Entourage Limited

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

cargo door does not open electronically

We had a 2007 entourage and the door did the same thing. We currently have 2 2008 entourages and the doors do the same thing. we coud only afford to have one door on one van fixed at $800

Entourage

  • Automatic transmission
  • 11,000 miles

The automatic doors opened on their own while I was driving. When I was parked and pushed the button to open the doors (either the buttons up front between the driver and front passenger seat or the buttons at the doors, even the pull down option) using the automatic version to open the doors, the doors would start to open and once they were halfway open, they would close again. It also would open all the way and when you pressed the buttons to close the doors, it would close halfway and then open back again. This would require me to physically get out of the van and manually close the doors (since my children were very young when these problems happened). It would happen whenever it wanted to but happened the most when it was very cold. I was driving down the road one day and one of the passenger doors opened by itself as I was about to get on the interstate. I had to disable the automatic function and manually close the door. The dealership had a problem and could not get it to replicate so getting the problem fixed was ridiculous. I eventually had them keep it for 2 weeks and replace different things as a process of elimination until the issue was resolved. I complained to the dealership and brought it in multiple times before I finally told them to keep it for a couple of weeks so they could see it. They eventually did what I recommended and started replacing cheap components and worked up to replacing the more expensive things if it needed to. As it turned out, there was a problem with the switches and since they replaced them, I have not had one problem with it since.
