Equus Signature 5.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 400 miles

New car purchased 03/17/2014, trunk would open on it own while driving on the road. First occurred at less than 400 miles on odometer. Has been to several dealerships for this same concern over a 2 year period, but all I'm told is "can't duplicate your concern, there is nothing wrong with your car." Now the electrical issues continue to expand, the sensors don't function properly, I'm told " it's a cloud moving over the car that's causing the sensors to go off and slow the car down", to it " must be glare from driving into the sun". All ridiculous responses, and still no repair. These issues continue, but it gets even better, several times I've been driving on the highway, and go to change lanes, only to find my side mirrors have folded in, all by themselves. VERY DANGEROUS, even LIFE THREATENING! Took it in several times, again, "can't duplicate your concern" is the typical response I get. Escalated it to the service manager who promptly informed me "when you bring us a valid complaint, we will fix your car." A VALID COMPLAINT? My brand new car has not functioned correctly since less than 400 miles on the odometer. So, I started to take pictures. My speedometer showing I'm driving 45mph and the trunk open flashing on my dash comes on, pictures of the car not recognizing my key fob, pictures of my speedometer at 70mph on the freeway and the side mirrors folded in while trying to navigate afternoon traffic. All this validation of my complaints, and I'm told " we fixed your car 4 days ago, we are not going to document this or do any further repair. You need to leave Hyundai USA property immediately." What??? My car is still under warranty? Hyundai wants to play with the big boys like Mercedes, Lexus is comparing this car to the other Luxury vehicles, but REFUSES to back up their warranty and product and do right by the CONSUMER! Lemon Law! Just buy the car back so we can all move forward. I've had to be the responsible party in all this and take the car off the road and rent a vehicle until " their" arbitration is done, just to be safe, and to ensure NO ONE gets killed. What a CROCK! EQUUS EXPERIENCE, non-existent, HYUNDAI Assurance- take the CONSUMER for all they can.
