Shame on Hyundai! Paint warranty is only 3 yrs... I wrote to Hyundai America and they said that the defects warranty may cover it but dealer said no. I wrote back to Hyundai and they said the dealer was correct! Apparently Hyundai isn't familiar with their own warranties so I get to waste my time running around.

Remember how braggadocio us Hyundai was about the paint process for the new Genesis? I once owned a '91 Sonata that had terrible oxidation all over the roof and hood. I swore I wouldn't buy another Hyundai after that. They fooled me. I am now driving around another embarrassing car. This was their flagship vehicle! I will be trading my Santa Fe before it starts to show signs of paint issues and ditching this Genesis before the oxidation spreads and no one wants it. It is now my personal mission to prevent any friends or family from buying from Hyundai....

Pay a little more and know that you will continue to drive an attractive car for years instead of getting stuck with an ugly paint job.... We are a Hyundai family no more
