Vehicles brake pedal became very soft and needed to press down all the way down on the pedal for the vehicle to stop. Was driving on the highway when this occurred. Drove straight to the Hyundai dealer and told the service tech of my issue. Received a call from the advisor where he explained the ABS system on the vehicle had failed and needed to be replaced. Cost is $2,800.
I researched my vehicle and saw a recall problem with the Genesis and it braking system. I was advised that this only applied to a select VIN and window. Unfortunately for me, my Genesis did not me the requirement. I contact the Genesis help line and was advised there was not any Hyundai recalls relating directly to this braking issue. Also advised I may be reimbursed if had my vehicle repaired if a recall is performed.
This seems to be a common issue with the Genesis

I bought this car at the Conshohocken Auto Mall and the brakes were soft to begin with. I took at the Firestone they told me that there was a problem with the ECU module on the brakes there was a recall on this vehicle. I called the local Hyundai dealer and they told me it wasn’t covered and Firestone Nazareth, PA told me that there was a recall on this and it was never taken care of. I see Hyundai really values their customers just want it fixed
