My 2012 Genesis sedan has had 2 episodes of total loss of power while parked at home. The latest was 6/10/19, with the first being about a week before. They started after the dealership performed the 100,000 mile maintenance and replaced the spark plugs. The first episode was resolved by us after finding a loose main fuse in the engine compartment and then power was restored. The most recent occurred when after driving it earlier that day, we were about to use it a few hours later and everything, including the horn, trunk release, lights, etc.were dead. I checked the fuses and everything appeared fine and nothing helped. I called the dealership and they said to tow it in the next day. 2 hours later, I went out to clean out anything I needed from the car and the power was back on and the car started.
We drove it to the dealership the next day and left it for diagnostics. They found nothing wrong and couldn't duplicate the problem. I called the National Hyundai number and set up a case number for it and after they contacted the dealership, they said there was nothing they could do further unless they could duplicate the problem. When I asked could this happen when I'm driving and cause an accident, Tana the Hyundai rep didn't have an answer. I told her I wasn't happy with how they handled this and surely there had to be others with similar complaints. She said that's all they can do. I'm picking the car up tomorrow so we shall see what happens.
This is probably the last Hyundai I'll own after owning 2 before this.

I started the car, drove to the managers office and shut it off while I ran in to drop my rent in the mailbox. When I came back out, I hit the start button, the dash flashed and everything went dead. No locks, no accessories, proximity key wouldn't do anything even when inserted. I got out and started checking fuses. While I was doing that, a neighbor came out and got in her car, which I was sitting in front of. I went over and said "I'm sorry I'm blocking you, my car is dead and I can't get it out of gear." She said "No problem, I'll take the other car". I said thanks, started back to my car and the dash lit up as I was walking. The radio was on but had been reset, so it lost all power. I hopped in, hit the start button and it fired right up. I told my neighbor it was fine, backed up and let her out. Then I drove to work with no more issues. But I know there is a problem. What bothers me is I didn't do anything - it just broke and fixed itself. I'll tighten down all the grounds this weekend and pray this doesn't happen again.

I loved this car until 5 wks ago. My key fob stopped working - I couldn't get into the car and then when I gained access The push button start would not work. I read the manual and put the key fob in the location it told me to. It still would not start. After about 20 attempts, I gave up and walked to Target to purchase a new battery for the remote key fob. Tried again to start the car and put the fob into the appropriate spot that the manual tell u to. Had to have the car towed to Hyundai dealership. They have had my car now going on 5 weeks. They told me that it would cost $2500 to fix - They ordered the parts, new key fob, push start button, basically the "brain" they told me - When they went to program the key fob and the car - it would not take the codes they put it that came with the fob. They still have my car and have called Hyundai to see if anyone there knows how to help. Anyone else have this issue??? On a positive note, they did give me a loaner car to drive after the 2nd week of not being able to fix the car
