Vehicle shuts off at red lights or when making very low speed turns. Indicator on dash shows 'KEY' symbol and sometimes battery symbol. I then have to shift to park or neutral to push button restart vehicle. Other times I'm parked with vehicle idling and it simply shuts off. This issue puts me at risk because it shuts off while driving on public roads with other vehicles. The repair shop can't find out why this is happening and the vehicle flashes no check engine light and there are no stored codes. This began a couple months after I had a new battery installed in the vehicle and put a new battery in the key fob. Vehicle now, no longer recognizes key fob. I have to manually insert key fob into a key fob slot inside vehicle in order to crank it. This seems to be an issue with the 2012 model Genesis, as I have read on several online forums of other owners experiencing the same problem.

My vechile stalls while driving at various times. This could cause a serious accident in which lives could be lost. This eems to be problem with the Genesis from 2012 to 2016 from my research. I am not the only owner with this problem. The dealers cant find the problem or why it is occuring. The dealers give you numerous reasons as to what might be the cause of this problem, but they are not sure. This could cost a consumer $1000 of dollars just to find out what the problem is. This occurs when just driving down a street, on curves or going straight. I have not had an accident yet! im trying to avoid this.this occurs when my gas tank gets low, that is what I have noticed.

Navigation display failure resulting in no back-up camera, no A/V functions, and HVAC control malfunction. Dealer replaced within approximately 8 months of purchase. System has failed again and corporate advised that the part was on backorder and we waited for a replacement part for 8 months. Now corporate has advised that the part, A-V monitor assembly part #965633M851, is unavailable/discontinued. No way to repair or replace the part. Vehicle has 44,000 miles on it. Sunroof failed within first 20,000 miles and was sealed to avoid expensive repair. Most recently the car died without warning while stationary. In for evaluation now. This car has been a chronic problem since we first purchased it and corporate has told us that we are at a dead end regarding the A/V monitor assembly - there is nothing they can do. A/V monitor assembly issue occurred in June of 2020.

The contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Genesis. The contact stated that the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard when it was depressed. The failure occurred several times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that there was a corrosion build up concerning the brake fluid, which affected the hydraulic electronic control unit. The mechanic replaced the brake pads and master cylinder, but the brake pedal continued to travel to the floorboard. The dealer (allen Hyundai, 624 E pass rd, gulfport, ms 39507, (228) 539-5555) was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA action number: PE13033 (service brakes, hydraulic) and NHTSA campaign number: 13V489000 (service brakes, hydraulic), but the failures were similar. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 74,380.

Following a hard turn which activated my electronic stability control (ESC), I lost all pressure in my brake pedal and it sunk to the floor. This is following a near-accident in which I had to engage my ABS system by slamming on the brakes to avoid an accident. Ever since that ABS activation, my brake pedal has not felt the same. It takes more effort to stop now and you have to push the pedal farther than usual to get brake activation. I can recreate the problem by getting the ESC to activate again if I spin the tires on a hard turn. Immediately after doing so, I will no longer have any braking power or pedal pressure. Hyundai refuses to accept responsibility for this because even though my vehicle is within the affected production years, they claim my VIN does not qualify for the recall. The recall was campaign 114 which eventually turned into a mandatory recall. The potentially affected years range from 2009-March 28th 2012. My vehicle was made January 10th, 2012. Therefore it should qualify but they claim it will not. I am afraid for my safety and Hyundai needs to own up to their mistakes and fix my problem before I die from it. The 3 instances I've had the issue have all occurred while making a hard right turn with low traction and the ESC light flashes meaning the ABS was indirectly activated. After this turn and ESC activation, there will be no pressure in the brakes until it gets pumped several times. Sometimes I will have no brake pressure in the pedal until I've stopped 3 or 4 times and pumped the brakes.

While braking at a stop light, the brake pedal went to the floor and I lost anti-lock function and had to press hard on the pedal to stop. The problem persisted for a day or two, then went back to normal. After about a week, the same problem occurred. After researching this issue, I found numerous cars had the same problem, yet it seems Hyundai refuses to take responsibility. There is a recall NHTSA campaign number: 13V489000, however when I run my VIN #, no recalls are listed. My car is a 2012 Hyundai Genesis.

The vehicle was in motion in a busy commercial area. When the brakes were depressed the pedal went to the floor and slowing of the vehicle was impaired. To stop the vehicle required pumping the brakes to return some pedal pressure. The car was driven home and over the course of several stops (pumping the brakes) the pedal force returned to near normal. I am making an appointment to have the car serviced by a dealer.

Brake pedal began to require more and more travel to achieve braking effectiveness. There was no evidence of a brake fluid leak. There was no reduction of brake fluid in the reservoir. The ability to modulate braking for conditions such as slow speed (parking lot) driving is significantly impaired. The issue also has required a very heavy pressure on the brake pedal to allow the engine to start (push button ignition switch). I have learned that Hyundai has identified an issue with brake fluid that failed to protect the hydraulic electronic control unit (hecu). Resulting corrosion within the brake system leads to the failure mode I am experiencing. This issue has happened on a car driven by an 86 year old woman. The situation came on over time, but became very noticeable within the last 6 - 8 months. The car only has 21.4K miles on it.

My brake pedal became soft and sponge without any warning signal. I had to press brake pedal all the way down to floor in order to stop and it took much long distance to stop. Hyundai recalled my car back on 2013 and changed brake fluid. At that time I had no brake problem. I think they must recall for this terrible manufacturing default before anyone get into accident.

When applying brakes whether on residential streets, backing out of the garage or on the highway the brake peddle continues to sink to the floor and only provides very little stopping power (something like a coasting stop). Since this recently started happening I have discovered that pumping the brakes helps to get better stopping results but it is now scary to drive. I had the brake fluid replaced as a result of Hyundai's campaign 114 recall in July of 2014, however I am now experiencing what appears to be consistent brake failure. I have contacted Hyundai Consumer Affairs and they basically stated that because I had the campaign 114 recall done that there is nothing else they can do regarding the possible hecu module failure as a result of deterioration due to the dot-3 brake fluid exposure. I also find it hard to accept that the hecu module was taken off and the valves inspected by the dealer as part of the recall. I sincerely believe that this issue was never resolved on the original 114 recall and now I am responsible for the repair cost as Hyundai is refusing to cover this under warranty. My car has 74K miles on it. Something needs to be done as anyone driving one of these vehicles is in very serious danger of severe injury or death to themselves or others as this car is not safe to drive as a result of an oversight by Hyundai.

Hyundai issued a technical service bulletin for the bh Genesis sedan hecu inspection and brake fluid replacement (recall 114). The dealer told me this service was performed on my car in 2014. My hecu has failed and braking is very limited. It appears that the resolution to this recall does not resolve the problem. My car is not safe to drive. Should the recall be issued again requiring replacement of the hecu?
