I got into my Hyundai Genesis a few days ago, I live in Florida and it is hell hot in the summer, started the engine, pushed the window control on the drivers side to lower the windows to let out the heat, windows did not operate. I checked the lockout feature to make sure it was not engaged, it was not. I turned the engine off tried again, still would not operate. I had an appointment, so I started to drive the vehicle after a few minutes, tried again, windows operated. Stopped at the store, restarted vehicle, windows did not operate, arrived home windows operated.
I called the dealer, they assured me it was a faulty control switch, come on, a switch does not fail then operate without a problem. After reading other complaints with the Genesis it is apparent that this vehicle is plagued with electrical problems. I contacted Hyundai Corporate Headquarter to register a complaint, they responded they will get back to me in 3 - 5 business days. Gee, I hope I don't get run off the road and go into a canal only to find I can't open my windows (yes I am aware after you enter the water windows will not operate, but would like the option to lower them before I hit the water). This is my second Asian vehicle, that has been nothing but a major problem, good luck, they leave you on your own. Going forward buy American!!!
