I was coasting up to a red light at about 30 MPH when all of a sudden I heard a loud noise and then a violent jolt as if being hit from behind. I immediately looked in the mirror and saw no cars around me. At the light, I put the car in park, turned the flashers on and got out to walk behind the care to see the damage. There was no damage. Even though I had not seen a car hit me, I was certain I had been hit because the hit/jolt was so violent. I had been talking to my son on the handfree device and he even heard the boom and thought I had been hit. The hit/jolt was so hard the it hurt my neck and gave me a headache. I expected to see some kind of alarm or notification on the screen but nothing came up.
I'm planning on taking the car into the service dept to see if they can determine the issue. I have a little more than 12,000 miles on the car and have had no previous issues with the transmission.
Update from Jan 6, 2017: I took the car to the Hyundai Service dept the next morning because of my concern that it would happen again.
The service dept kept the car for 2 days. Test drove it several times and never found anything wrong or had a recurrence of the event. In addition, they found no log of issue in the computer on the car.

I was driving on a straight road with my speed at around 30 mph when suddenly the car accelerate abruptly and I felt like someone hit my car from behind but when I look in my rear view mirror there was no car behind me. .

On Saturday June 27th 2015, I was driving to the store and stooped at a light behind another vehicle. When the light change I accelerated following the car in front of me. As I was accelerating through the lower gears not doing more that 15-20MPH there was a loud crack behind the dash and the car violently accelerated and a LOUD "Boom" was heard from the drivetrain, as though someone had hit me from behind (which was not the case). I had to brake hard to avoid hitting the car in from (not that I was so close but the violence of the acceleration was enough). I called the dealer immediately about this this. The car is now back in dealership and they have informed me that they took it for a drive and could not reproduce the issue and that there are no error code in the GDS computer.
This in my mind is a serious issue that could have caused an accident. Do I trust this car now NO I do not.

Same issue as the rest of them. Driving at a medium speed & all of a sudden the RPM's race up & when the transmission shifts in it bangs violently like either someone hit you or you hit a really deep pothole.
Whenever I take it in for maintenance I ask them if they've heard anything about the issue & it's always No. And since we can't reproduce the issue on the fly there's nothing to look at. If Hyundai doesn't come up with an answer soon I'm going to dump it, it's potentially dangerous when it leaps forward.
If anyone ever figures it out let us know so we can get it fixed.
