Genesis Coupe Rspec 2.0t

  • Manual transmission
  • 1,000 miles

I bought this vehicle brand new. A couple months after buying it, I noticed a rattle between 2,500 and 3,000 RPMs. I brought it into the dealership and they said it was a rattle in the heat shield and could not locate it. a few years later after the sound progressively got worse, I brought it in and put up a fuss. They said it was the waistgate actuator, they replaced that, but it didn't fix the noise. They then replaced the turbo which took the sound away for about 5 months, but it returned again. Finally brought it in again and they thought it was the flex pipe, after looking at it longer they discovered a loose bolt on the CAT bracket that attaches to the transmission. So far the sound has not returned. It was all covered under warranty. It doesn't sound like it was the turbo at all, but at least I got a new turbo out of it!
