I was informed by the dealers (in Lebanon) that this car (Hyundai IONIQ 2019) can run 450 to 500 km / 20 liters, which is 22.50 km / 01 liter. I did 02 test drives within 2 weeks as i was not convinced to buy it since the cost is USD 30,700/- for luxury and around USD 35000/- for luxury plus. So i wanted to make sure that i will save petrol to compensate the high buying price when comparing with other brands.
First test, it showed 11.15 km / 1 liter. I thought maybe because 80% of my driving was hills/mountains and a bit of city roads.
Second test where i drove only in the city, it showed 11.90 km / 1 liter.
The dealer provided the car for both tests but I paid for the petrol.
The engine was always switching on and rarely using battery to operate even when the speed is around 15 km/h with very very very soft acceleration (Barely pressing the pedal).
My driving was normal. Not harshly accelerating as i had my family with me.
So is it a lie that those cars drive 22.50 km/ 1 liter or maybe something is wrong with the vehicle i used for the test drive? God knows.
Update from Jul 15, 2019: we did another test today (Third) and the reading was 17.50 KM / 01 liter.

The dealer put the wrong oil in this car on three occasions. I don't know how dealers manage to f*** up oil changes. Worse, they charge for 5 quarts where the owners manual says 4 quarts. Why can't Hyundai have quality oversight of their dealers and service people?
