There is an odor in the vehicle that won't go away. It has been there since I purchased the car on 2/29/20. It was a dealer demo with 4600 miles on it. I didn't notice it during the test drive. Every time I get in the vehicle there is an odor like I have never smelled before. It "goes away" basically as soon as you turn on the a/c or heat. Or maybe you just get used to it and don't notice then.
I'd say the odor smells like glue to me. Seems to be more prevalent when sitting in the front seats than the rear.
It's definitely not moisture related, as I ran my 70 pint dehumidifier in it for 8 hours, and it didn't collect a drop of water. And the smell was still there.
I also put baking soda all over the carpets, left it overnight, and vacuumed it up the next morning. The smell was still there.
The only other remedy I can think of is to buy/rent an ozone machine and run that in it. These are not cheap, and I don't feel I should have to incur this cost on a vehicle that costs almost $50k.
I plan on mentioning this to the dealership whenever I take the car in for service and insisting that they fix this. If they cannot, I'll keep taking it back and insisting that they due until I can file a lemon law claim.
This is a known problem in the Palisades. Read other owner complaints about the same issue here:
