About These NHTSA Complaints:
The NHTSA is the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints can be spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem. See the Back button — blue bar at the very top of the page — to explore more.
The seatbelt is flush with the seat and does not allow for a safe and easy fashion to buckle our son in while in his booster seat. We can get it done, but it is extremely difficult and he cannot do it on his own. Upon doing some research, many people are now using seatbelt extenders to help with that issue, which is not allowed/rated for this use. I was considering it until I saw the potential danger involved.

Multiple seatbelts in the vehicle seem to be latched properly, then while driving, they become unlatched. This occurs often, but is made worse in colder weather.

Having a lot of issue with the rear seatbelt buckle being recessed to far into the seat to ensure it was properly buckled. There has been a few incidents where my child was unaware she did not fully buckle until the seatbelt came undone. It-??s gotten to the point where we decided to put her back into the car seat rather than a booster due to how difficult it is to buckle the seatbelt correctly

I have a 2020 hyundai palisade and it only has 9000 miles on it. The driver side seat belt and the second row middle seat belt will not buckle anymore. The driver seat belt start just a few month after i bought the car. The second row middle seat belt issue looks like came with the new car, we did not know because we did not use that seat until now. The dealer is making this my issue and they are telling me, this is due things stuck in the seat belt and asking me to pay to fix the issue.

It is extremely difficult to buckle the seatbelt around our childrens' booster seats. We have a six and nine-year-old who are fully capable of buckling their own seats. However, they are unable to buckle in this vehicle due to the limited slack on the buckle and the narrow captains' chairs in the second row. I am barely able to buckle them and often concerned that the clip did not secure properly due to the challenging nature of the process. This is a safety concern because if we were to wreck and it was not secured, my children's lives would be at risk.

THE SEATBELT BUCKLES FOR THE CAPTAINS CHAIRS ARE RECESSED INTO THE BODY OF THE SEAT. THIS MAKES IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT FOR BOTH ADULTS AND CHILDREN TO BUCKLE UP. THE BUCKLES ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO USE WITH BOOSTER CHAIRS WHITEOUT SOME AFTER MARKET MODIFICATION (NOT SAFE). Consumer stated buckles are recessed into the seat bottom and latch is angled inwards towards the seat making it even trickier to get to. The angles isn't helping with latching. Silicone and foam building block is used to hold buckle in place.

The middle row bucket seatbelts are installed too low into the recess of the seat making bucking extremely hard, and at times, preventing the seatbelt from clicking into place at all.
