The rubber covering on the rear passenger side strut top insulator disintegrated twice. It was replaced in 2022 at 20,000 miles and now again in 2024 at 57,000. It was confirmed by the dealer and acknowledge that this is a known problem. The issue caused a loud knocking sound when I drove and vehicle instability. I was afraid to drive my vehicle until it was fixed. There were no messages, warnings or lamps that indicated what the issue was.

1) Back end of the vehicle sways, bounces at any speed when going over slightest bump. Driving with failing shocks or struts has a direct impact on your ability to control vehicle. Research indicates KNOWN ISSUE with 2020-2021 Hyundai Palisades - TSB22-SS-001H issued for PART of the problem but no recall. Hyundai clearly knows about it but not issuing needed recall because it is a warranty item, hoping customers don't realize it until out of warranty. Mine still in warranty, 48K miles. Rear- self leveling shocks appear to be the issue along with upper insulator piece. See Forum: [XXX] ) Another KNOWN ISSUE with cracking windshields same model. Mine cracked [XXX] while parked under cover - no apparent cause, Hyundai wanted over 1K to replace - had to use insurance to replace it. The rear self leveling shocks pop and rattle and ultimately fail. What used to be a comfortable ride is now a stiff bouncy response in the rear whenever traversing any but a smooth road. The bounce is so bad it affects the driver and at times the ability to maintain a straight course.

Rear shock absorbers are not functioning properly after 70,000 miles. I have had no success after no less than 10 attempts to purchase replacements from dealers and online Hyundai parts suppliers. Hyundai is aware of the defective shock absorber issue but has not corrected the replacement issue.

The car started very slightly making a clunking noise and it progressively got worse. We've taken it for every scheduled maintenance and didn't know anything was wrong. We asked for it to be specifically checked at our recent oil change and were told it is a unfortunate COMMON issue that HYUNDAI IS AWARE of BUT the warranty ended on that about 6 months ago - something that should've been addressed and resolved, they waited until out of warranty and didn't do anything and now the fix is $1700 (rear struts need to be replaced) car jumps and it will get even worse. Also the wipers turn on when there is no rain but don't turn on when it rains the sensors are messed

The self-leveling rear suspension on this vehicle has failed twice at approximately every 20,000 miles. I do not tow anything or haul heavy loads. It is a family transport vehicle that is primarily operated on smooth, flat paved roads in a suburban environment. The service writer at Don Moore Hyundai in Owensboro, KY advised that this is a very common issue due to poor design. The components require complete replacement. My personal research via vehicle interest/information forums seems to support this claim as many others have been experiencing the same issue. There is no warning that failure is imminent. The suspension makes a knocking sound, primarily at low speed. Ride and handling are negatively impacted, and the tires are subject to damage and premature wear. The vehicle is available for inspection and it is serviced at the aforementioned dealership.

With about 47,000 miles of use the suspension became rough, mostly in the rear when driving. It is like you are driving with little to no shocks. The smallest bumps in the road you feel it and bounce in the seat. It used to be a very smooth driving car and very enjoyable to drive. This suspension problem is making it less than enjoyable and more difficult to drive. I spend more time looking at the road and avoiding things that could a rough drive. I have had vehicles in the past that had auto leveling systems and air shocks which has caused similar driving, so it may be a design problem. With this low mileage it should not be a ware issue.

About a year after purchase (new) a loud popping noise emanating from the rear suspension was reported to my Hyundai dealer. At first I was told it was a normal characteristic of the car. After escalating the complaint I was told it had a bad rear shock, which was replaced under warranty but the noise continued. They told me that a Hyundai tech specialist would contact me for resolution. That was 5 months ago. The noise persists.

at 30K miles, the car started to make loud noises when driving over speed bumps, the smallest of road variations. Dealer detected the issue until Hyundai executives were contacted. Then, the dealer changed their story and confirmed the shocks on the car need to be redesigned in reinstalled and it's becoimg a national/ international problem. They are talking about the rear shocks only and not including the front. The issue with the shocks are wide spread and being discussed on the multiple forums. Very concerned about potential and major damage to the tires/car that can cause major accidents..

My vehicle has what appears to be a major alignment issue. When driving on almost any straight stretch of road the vehicle pulls/veers to the right. Dealer says this is as designed from Hyundai and that they have checked "everything". I am baffled that any car can be "designed" to not drive straight. They claim all Hyundai vehicles are "designed" to pull to the right. One the test drive with the service manager, driving 50 - 60 mph, my vehicle drifted 1 and a half lanes to the right on its own. Under acceleration it veered 3 lanes to the right. This was in a matter of 6 or 7 seconds. This happens on almost all roads and interstates, not just some. The dealer says there is nothing to repair and this is "normal" and to take it up with the manufacturer. I can provide video of the issue.

Vibration at speeds of 64/65mph and up. Not sure if driveshaft or transmission. Hyundai has issued a tsb but will not honor it. I have asked 2X for dealer service dept. To evaluate this problem. They said they do not have to honor this tsb. I have seen on forums others are having same problem with cars made in December 2019. It is painful to drive on the highway and I do not know if it is the driveshaft, will it break" will the transmission fail" this is a brand new car purchased new and it is unsafe to drive on the highway and I cannot get Hyundai to look at the problem and they have sent emails saying tough luck. This is anytime you are driving on interstates or highways with speed limits of 70mph..at around 64/65 car steering wheel, seat, floor vibrates unless you go below 63mph. Happens every time. First time was driving home from dealer on highway--been reaching out to Hyundai usa since July been to dealer in July, August...but always told appointment will be two weeks to 6 weeks away.
