Windshield got dinged by a small pebble while driving on expressway. Windshield cracked and spread extremely fast. Within a couple of hours, crack had spread across the drivers side almost to the passenger side. $935.00 to replace. A small pebble that dings the windshield should not crack it like that!!! These windshields are garbage and defective, and need to be made thicker so they can withstand normal everyday driving conditions. I am in a group for Palisade owners on facebook, and Its a very common problem with the Palisade.

This is my second time, oh geez. I had replaced new windshield little over a month ago. I was driving on I 70 and small pebble hit my windshield on the passenger side and there is another diamond.
Hyundai needs to recall 2020 Palisade for faulty windshield. This is annoying, costly and very bad customer experience. I am not sure if this crack requires replacement or they can fill it.
Either way, if you are thinking of buying this vehicle, please prepare yourself for windshield disaster. You will not even enjoy the highway driving with the fear of even minor pebble strike to your windshield.

I have no other complaints on this vehicle but the quality of windshield is absolute disaster. I don't think this low-grade windshield even qualifies for US highway. It will not be able to survive even minor pebble strike. Mine happened on I 95, I heard a faint noise of pebble strike on the center top of the glass. Didn't pay much attention, but next morning a very visible crack, more then 10 inches, had developed.
Safelite changed the glass then I noticed that the head-on display was blurry, so they had to order brand-new glass from Hyundai. I waited for 2 more weeks and went back to get it fixed. Then received another bad news, while the glass expert was installing the glass it cracked, talk about the horrible product.
They politely asked me to come in next 2 weeks to get it replaced. Went back after two weeks and job done. I had to pay deductible and rest was covered by my insurance.

We had our Hyundai Palisade not even a year and it is the worst purchase ever. I wish I would have keep our 2008 Dodge Durango until we couldn't drive it anymore. I am very disappointed in Hyundai and I will never purchase a Hyundai again.

A rock hit my windshield and cracked it, and I am unable to use the car. I have been sitting in my driveway waiting for the past 2 months for a replacement windshield from Hyundai. Hyundai dealership keeps telling me there a national back order for these windshields, and they cannot even provide an ETA of when they will get a part. When I called Hyundai customer service, there was an automated message informing me to email them. I guess Hyundai is too busy selling new cars, then trying to provide customer service to existing customers.
This is my first and last purchase of a Hyundai or Kia vehicle, seeing this is how they treat their customers. It's really, really frustrating to have a brand-new car sitting in the driveway that's unusable due to being unable to get a windshield for the past two months and no idea how long it will take Hyundai to provide a windshield for my car, all besides the high cost of replacement. Never going to buy or recommend a Hyundai vehicle to anyone.

I have a 2020 Hyundai palisade which has a crack straight across the windshield. I came out of my garage on September 21, 2021 and noticed a crack in the the left top corner of the windshield shortly after that the crack turned into severe crack all the way across the windshield. I was told that the cost to repair the windshield was $1800. Now it was December 22nd and just a week before there's now a crack in the center of my windshield. I don't even know where to start Hyundai should be held responsible for doing these repairs because the crack in the windshield does but does interfere with your view.

Well, I just have a 2020 Hyundai palisade. It is a nice car, very nice, but...
One day I found a little tiny chip on windshield. It was so hard to see so I didn't really concern myself about that. But a couple day later after waking up in the morning, I noticed that windshield crack all the way through middle... I was shocked!
It's a safety issue if it happens in driving on the Road! We don't want to imagine that...
I think glass is very, very sensitive or it's not right to standard limit...
So I have to claim my insurance and need to fix it, but we don't know how much cost total.

After having my vehicle for about 3 months, the windshield had about 8 rock chips from SAND that roads are coated with in the winter for snow storms. I had a pebble hit my windshield causing a star immediately. Then after having my vehicle for about a year, I came out of work to my windshield cracked from passenger side to the center. The cost is over $1000 to fix due to having to recalibrate various systems with the new windshield. This is beyond ridiculous and a complete safety hazard.

This was the SECOND time the windshield cracked! The original windshield cracked after taking a rock on the highway at 70 mph which is understandable however the pace at which the crack began and ran was faster than any other vehicle I've ever owned. We didn't even have time to have the initial impact repaired before the crack formed and ran. So, that windshield had to be replaced and aftermarket windshields are not available since the vehicle is so new. Therefore it had to be replaced with a Hyundai OEM windshield.
The windshield cracked in LESS THAN A WEEK and in LESS THAN 100 MILES, all while my wife was sitting still in the school drop-off line. There was a LOUD POP and she visually watched the crack start at the top and run down the driver's potion and across towards the middle. I've NEVER had an original windshield (1) crack so easily from an impact nor (2) a replacement windshield crack while remaining perfectly still in less than a week and under 100 miles!!!

Haven't even owned the vehicle 2 weeks, no cars around for at least 200 yards and suddenly something hits the windshield and a large crack appears. The Santa Fe we had before this but had to trade in due to an engine recall was the same way. Replaced it twice and fixed it once in 5 years of owning it. Hyundai needs to own up to this and recall these asap.

This is the second windshield that I have had to have replaced in the matter of six months on my brand new Hyundai 2020 Palisade. Not sure if they’re going to do a recall or what is underway on this, but I would like some direction if anyone has any suggestions.

We were washing the car and the windshield developed a large crack in the upper passenger side that started at the top and extended down and diagonally towards the middle of the windshield. There was no history of known damage to the windshield prior to this.

Today on 4/28/21 the windshield cracked again. I was driving under less than 50 miles per hour and suddenly it cracked. This is the second time this has happened. Now I have a very bad safety issue in my car - it's only about 15 months old and I don’t feel safe driving it.

A small pebble hit the windshield resulting in a starburst chip that quickly (next day) turned into a crack across the windshield, requiring full windshield replacement. Windshield should not have cracked so easily! I did not even have time for fix the chip.

Driving on the interstate and a small rock hit the left side of the windshield, resulting in a starburst chip. The windshield should not crack so easily! This is the second time it happened in one week to the same windshield! Something is definitely defective!

I drove home from town the day before thanksgiving after gathering groceries for the big day with no issues. The next morning we got in the car to go to my in-laws for thanksgiving and I had a maybe 6 inch crack in my windshield. It was in the middle of the windshield on the bottom. I was very irritated but my husband insisted that something must have hit it. I’ve driven the same road for 19 years and have never had a crack on my windshield.
A few months later I was driving the same highway and a truck was driving on the shoulder letting the line of cars in front of me and myself pass. When I passed this truck that was driving about 30 miles an hour I heard a loud TINK and a large crack instantly appeared right above my previous crack - that new crack is a good 12-15 inches. I live in a town of about 100,000 people so there may be 10 palisades in this area. I went into to the glass shop that Hyundai outsources their repairs to and the woman told me that I would be the 3rd palisade windshield that she has fixed THIS MONTH.
To me it seems evident that there is definitely an issue with their windshields. I haven’t decided whether I want to spend the 500$ for the glass and then have to pay Hyundai and extra 130$ to have it calibrated. Grrr...

I would like to join the class action lawsuit. I drive a lot for my job and have had company cars of all kinds and only had one cracked windshield that was fixed without replacing. My wife has never had one. She says a pebble barely hit the windshield while I was on bluetooth with her. I didn't even hear it. The next day it grew to over a foot long. From the class action lawsuits and complaints, this is obviously a faulty design. Hyundai needs to recall and replace all Palisade windshields at no cost to the owner and reimburse anyone that paid out of pocket.

I cannot believe that I drove my last vehicle 220,000 miles and never had a chipped or broken windshield, I have under 500 miles on the palisade and now a chipped windshield. Doing research I found that this seems to be a trend with palisades, an expensive trend, I have the heads up display. It now makes sense why other drivers (Almost directly behind) were not raging at the dump truck, I was two lanes over and several hundred feet behind.
Not sure what my next step is but it will include a new windshield- which is looking like it should not be my expense- oh well.

I’ve now been without my Palisade for 6 weeks (at a location 350 miles from my home) waiting on a windshield replacement. My issue was due to an object hitting it and completely destroying the passenger side. Hyundai can not support this vehicle and is telling me another 3 weeks until the windshield arrives for replacement so I’m likely another 4 weeks without my car that I’m making payments on to Hyundai.
Consumer Affairs has yet to offer any resolution other than wait on replacement which is unacceptable.
