I-??m writing to report a serious safety concern with my 2024 Hyundai Palisade (VIN: [XXX] ). The second-row seat belt on the passenger side does not retract or stay secure properly. It often remains loose or gets stuck when pulled, and sometimes won-??t tighten back automatically. I brought my vehicle to the dealership, but they said they couldn-??t replicate the issue. I recorded a video clearly showing the problem, which I am attaching to this message. This is extremely concerning to me because I have young children who sit in the second row, and I-??m worried the seat belt could fail to protect them in an accident. It-??s very scary as a parent to see a safety feature not working correctly in such a new vehicle. Additionally, the rear charger port doesn-??t work properly -?" the dealer said it-??s due to using a non-Hyundai phone charger, but the issue happens with multiple certified chargers and different devices. After checking online, I learned that Hyundai has an active seat belt recall (#283) for Palisade models (2020-2025), and my vehicle seems to fall within the affected range. I am requesting a case number and for this issue to be investigated under that recall and warranty coverage. Please confirm receipt of this message and let me know how to send or upload the video evidence for your review. I-??d also like a follow-up from a regional case manager, as this is a potential safety defect involving children. Thank you for your attention and for helping ensure my family-??s safety. The driver seat will move without any input from the driver, it will move forward and also tilt as far forward as possible smashing the driver in the seat. It will do this when parked after starting the vehicle and it has also done it while DRIVING which impedded my ability to control the vehicle. This situation is incredibly dangerous but when I've taken it to the dealer they refuse to troubleshoot the issue because they didn't see it happen. This happens probably 5-10 times per week.

Subject: Safety Concern -?" 2024 Hyundai Palisade Headrest Design Component Affected: Seats / Headrest Vehicle: 2024 Hyundai Palisade VIN: [XXX] Incident Date: [xxx] Mileage at Time of Incident: 15,000 Dealer: Braman Hyundai Miami, 2001 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33137 | (786) 623-4261 Dear NHTSA, I am writing to formally report a safety concern involving the headrest design in my 2024 Hyundai Palisade. On [xxx], my [XXX] son briefly removed and reinserted the middle-row headrest while unsupervised. The headrest locked into place in a reversed orientation and could not be removed or corrected without disassembly by the dealership. I was charged $680 for the repair. This incident raises the following concerns: -??The headrest should not be capable of locking in an incorrect and potentially unsafe position. -??There are no warnings, labels, or mechanical safeguards to prevent reverse installation. -??The owner's manual provides no guidance on this possibility. -??This design flaw is particularly troubling in a family-oriented vehicle. -??Hyundai has not acknowledged fault or offered support despite the safety implications. I believe this represents a design defect with implications under FMVSS 202a and related passenger safety standards. I am therefore requesting the following: 1.Full reimbursement of the $680 repair cost, which I believe resulted from a manufacturer design oversight. 2.Written acknowledgment of whether Hyundai has previously received similar reports, and whether a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) or other corrective measure is planned. 3.Confirmation that this report will be reviewed by Hyundai-??s safety or compliance team. Attached is a copy of the dealer invoice (No. [XXX) documenting the repair. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I am available for further questions or to provide additional documentation if needed. Sincerely, [XXX] Phone: [XXX] Email: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Vehicle has been to the dealership twice for an issue with the right-side seat bolster not correctly inflating on the driver's seat. Both times they are claiming the vehicle operates to the standards of a new vehicle on the lot but cannot give information on why the right and left sides operated differently or prove with a service manual on why. Hyundai claim's a 22-way seat, but without the right side moving, this is a 21-way seat. Would like information directly from Hyundia on the correct operations of the seat and also a replacement.
