code reader reports #5 misfire even after spark plugs changed.

After emergency braking on freeway, engine in my 5 speed cut off, popped clutch in 4th gear at 40 mph and engine/transmission jumped shudder and hesitated while I could only get 35-45 mph max in any gear, 2 minutes later car coasted to a stop. will only run for 1-2 minutes before stalling out again and 25 mph max is best it'll do now. Thank God, I made it to my parents' house.

had spark plugs replaced, still intermittent shudder and hesitation in my 5 spd vehicle. still reports #5 misfire with code reader. now car won't accelerate above 25 mph, and cuts off/stalls to a stop after 2 minutes no matter what gear I select. I hate this car, how does a recall get initiated?

Ignition Coil No 5 is on top of the spark plug No 5, under the air intake, and to replace it, it took 3 hours labor. paying for stupid engine design.
