And this is problem number 3 with fuel for my 2007 Santa Fe. The gas door mechanism is failing. Most of the time, it takes about 10 tries to get the door to open, sometimes i even have to give the door a little whack then pull the lever to get it to open. Dealer quoted $400 to repair, which I will have to do soon as the problem is getting scary bad, a couple times I really thought I wasn't going to be able to get the door open to get gas. All my "fuel" issues could cost me well over $1000 to repair, two that are needed just so that I can actually put gas into my car. Very frustrating.

I often have to sit at the pump and pull the internal release over and over again until the solenoid releases the cover.

Bought this SUV from a Hyundai dealership and it has been a nightmare packed with problems. Not sure when the problem started since I bought it with such high miles, but my Ford never had close to the amount of problems as I am having with this SUV. Calling in to have the dealership was a waste since they do not care about your problems only how much they still milk out of you. Very annoying problem, but after a million times it does finally open.
