Don't get gas parked in front/behind of me. While my attention is on getting the engine to start before it floods my manual shift car is sometimes rolling forwards or backwards according to the slope of the gas station. Once it finally does catch I have to shift into gear and maintain RPMs to it doesn't die on me.
I must look like the get-away driver as I peer to and fro for pedestrian and other cars before I focus my attention on hearing the engine catch. Windows down, radio off, head down, clutch in ; frantically staring at the gauges. As it begins to start I quickly look up for any last minute movement in front of me only to notice my car has rolled ten feet and I can barely make the turn while feathering the gas pedal to make sure she doesn't stall out.
I LIVE TO FILL UP ANOTHER DAY... BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Five years ago, we took the car to the dealership where we bought it because it didn't want to start after refueling. They told us we would have to leave the car to be repaired and come back the next day to get it. They charged us over $400 to fix it, but the problem was not fixed. It still did the same thing, so we took it back. They said what they had replaced needed replacing anyway, so they asked us to leave it again, and when we picked it up, they charged us over $500. Both times they included diagnostic testing fees. The problem was still not fixed, so my wife contacted Hyundai directly, and they suggested we take it to an authorized dealership. She told them that is where we took it both times, so they suggested we take it to a different one. Now we are out close to $1,000.00 and still have the same problem. We will never buy another Hyundai..ever! No service after the sale, and nothing but a hassle and an expense that doesn't fix the problem anyway.

It's beginning to happen every time I fill my gas tank. It is also beginning to take longer and longer to get it started. Today after filling up, it took me about 5 minutes of trying to start my car, to get it started. It is extremely annoying especially when I'm in a hurry to be somewhere. It's gotten to the point that I have to take time for that to happen into consideration when planning on filling up before I have to be somewhere.

I believe that it has to do with the vapor emissions....whenever I fill the gas tank, I have a hard time starting it. I do not know what it will cost me to get fixed. When I open the gas cap, no pressure like usual. Can anyone give me some suggestions please!

Replaced fuel level sensor after it went bad. After replacing sensor the car ran fine for a few days. Refueled the car, and it began to buck, and kick, and stall. Code came up for bad evap purge valve. Changed it out, and saw a slight improvement. Made it one refuel without issue then the problem came back. Changed the purge valve out again.... issue got better then worse. Changed out the fuel pump, cleaned O ring seat, and Changed out O ring, Changed evap sensor out, and ran fuel system cleaner through a few times in case the issue was at the injectors.
Will update at 300,000 miles after the engine rebuild to see if that fixes it. I did record some data from the failure to start at the pumps. Engine stalled with 0% commanded evap purge (the entire time), 90.588% fuel level input, 325 RPM peak without additional throttle give, ignition timing advance #1 cylinder 1° intake air temperature was 73.4°F (23°C), intake manifold absolute pressure 28.054 inHg, and the coolant temperature stuck around 156°F (68.8°C) I'm open to suggestions here, and will update when the new fuel cap gets here in case by some random miracle that's what caused this issue. I'm also waiting for a new fuel pump locking ring. I'm going to figure this out, update the post and hit another 300,000 miles.
