Lord I am glad I found this site; I too have been having gas reader issues. I even had the gas pump replaced ($400 with parts and labor and that because I have resources). When the tank is less than half; it goes down to E. I pump every 4 days just to have peace of mind I will not get stranded with a child in the car on the freeway and yes this has happened to me. The reader did not show empty, it was about 1/4 full; and the car stopped on the freeway. A friend bought me gas and sure enough, that was the issue. I am unsure how much the dealership will cost but I am sure it will cost and arm and leg. I try not to let it annoy me anymore and I keep it at least half way full. This car has truly brought me many issues, very expensive ones, and I can't help but stress. I bought the car used 4 years ago and I have invested over $4000 in fixing the starter, alternator, gas pump and radiator. Not to mention the cars starting to look old and dusty. I really had HOPED the car would last a while. Investing into your car and fixing the issues that come along is pretty much the only solution unless you want to get stuck with a leased car and a huge auto loan which I at this point, I may not have another option.

The same problem regarding fuel gauge failure /check engine light. Check engine light comes on ,goes off ,fuel gauge register on empty with light indicator anytime tank is less than full.

Fuel gauge increases and decreases sporadically, it went from 101 miles left in gas to 10 miles while I sat in one spot, and then went back up again. With such a manufacturing flaw you cannot gauge how much gas is left in your vehicle which is a serious issue. They need to recall.

Gas gauge hand is stuck at empty most of the time, even when the tank has been filled. Every once in a blue moon the hand fluctuates. January 28, 2016 was the first time I've ever run out of gas in my life because of this problem. I've been driving over 40 years.

I had both fuel float sensors replaced using an off brand part, problem went away for 1 week. I purchase new floats from Hyundai. Its been good for two weeks, until yesterday I filled my tank up, pump kept kicking off, I know it is full. The fuel gauge was just a little under from the full mark (needle). I drove aprox. 60 mile and gauge is showing a little greater then 3/4 full. This vehicle gets 24 miles to the gallon, and it has a 19.9 gal tank.
Those floats cannot be the problem. The wiring everywhere seems solid, clean no stress points etc. I am at a lost, thinking possibly Grounding issue?, Maybe the cluster panel? My Tachometer doesn't work, the miles per gallon indicator doesn't work. Luckily the Range mileage is working. This seem to be common on these vehicles. If someone has been successful fixing their similar issues please share.

Filled gas and the fuel gauge went to empty and check engine light is on.
This has been happening since we bought the car in May, 2020. Prior owner stated he did not have an issue (Thinking alternative facts here).
