2009 Santa Fe has been experiencing ongoing intermittent engine light on/off issues showing incorrect info regarding fuel. This started around 01/11/16, the only way the lights do not come on is if the gas is kept over the 1/2 full . Recently it feels like very little power, not really accelerating and have to be careful if turning as I am not able to accelerate. This could be a problem when other vehicles going at high speed and I am not able to get vehicle going. I have called a number of mechanics and they are baffled This is my only vehicle and need it daily to get to work n back and not able to experiment on fixing this or that just to eliminate everything else, this can be extremely costly. This is my first Hyundai and have always considered myself lucky to be a Hyundai owner, apparently I am not the only one with this issue as it seems the fuel one is quiet common. Just Hyundai is not prepared to and has not issued a recall which is sad that they would wait for a accident or worse and still not do anything. Hyundai needs to step up to the plate and try to keep it's current customers and find a solution/recalI. My main concern is the loss of power which comes with a humming sound and the worry of vehicle stalling and occasional failure to start. I have listed these as one problem as I believe they are related. I have always maintained any maintenance. oil changes done regularly but am concerned that this might be costly or the end of my Hyundai days.

This is an ongoing problem since it started. The Engine stalls while driving no matter the speed, which is VERY VERY dangerous. While this happens the dashboard completely lights up and car just dies! It's very scary. Turned engine off and the car starts again with dashboard clear or any lights.
After researching this problem, it seems we are not the only ones and can't imagine a car manufacturer not taking responsibility to address this life threatening issue. This has happened many times and mechanics have no answers to how to fix this. I'm here on record reporting it, hoping nothing tragic happens to my family in the mean time. Hyundai needs to seriously look at the problem and find a solution, or recall all of the vehicles in the range of years that I read this is happening to. If anyone has any solutions or advice, please share it.
