Sudden loss of power a few days after new vehicle purchase. Limp to dealer. When I pulled into the dealer lot, I received an alert (email or blue link, I can not remember) that the vehicle had been finalized in my name. The vehicle was restarted and acted normal. Dealer states that since there were no codes and I had received that email; the car was left in dealer demo mode by accident. There are three more instances of a sudden loss of power in the first 3000 miles which will be reported seperately

Driving home from church today, car seemed sluggish and jerky. Driving through our small town after church on a Sunday is bumper to bumper until you reach the other side of town. Trying to get the vehicle up to 45 seemed to take forever no matter how much I stepped on the pedal. Engine rev was high and the car suddenly started going slower until everyone was moving around me. Turned on the flashers and the dash board gave a message to pull over and leave the engine running to charge the battery… the ev batteries. Took forever to drive the six miles home in limp mode and I wasn’t sure i would make it so I called my wife to let her know what was happening. Finally got home and was supposed to be leaving on a Samaritan’s Purse mission trip to the Burnsville NC area. Left engine running with pressure on the accelerator to keep it from cutting off until the EV batteries we at half charge. I figured that would get me going until the battery system would be able to recharge while I was driving. WRONG! I had to turn around and head back home because it quickly drained the battery again before driving 3 miles not once, but twice. Ended up missing the mission trip and now hoping to get the vehicle towed to the dealer in the morning… which is 92 miles away. Three times, the Santa Fe Hybrid put me in a dangerous situation that not only endangered me but others who we having to go around me. I’ll let you know what happens as soon as I can get it back to the dealer. Which, by the way, has changed ownership! Go figure that one out.
