Santa Fe Sport 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,980 miles

As I was driving to work this morning, I noticed that my car wasn't acting quite right. I have the 2.0L Turbo and I'm used to my car really moving when I put my foot down. This morning I was having problems getting up to 40mph and my RPM was nearly pegged. Realizing this was an issue I drove slowly into work where I parked and thought about it. After some testing in the parking lot I realized that my automatic shifting wasn't working. The car was constantly in 1st gear. I could still use the semi-manual option to shift up (and it automatically downshifted), but there was no more automatic shifting.

The car is currently at the dealership and they said if they could "duplicate" the issue then they'd fix it - otherwise they'd send me home with the car until they could prove the issue and meet Hyundai's standards for free replacement under the power train warranty. My car is (thankfully) still under lease for another week or two and has less than 10,000 miles on it. I didn't think I'd be dealing with a transmission issue already.
