Engine oil consumption test at 1,000 miles after oil change. All oil gone. Happened for two oil changes. Engine light came on. I paid 5k in repairs for catalytic converter/manifold. Dealer contacted Hyundai to do combustion cleaning they said no. Dealer told me keep checking oil as my engine will seize on me. I'm terrified and this is dangerous to me and others. Hyundai knows of this oil engine problem still no recall.

After oil change, i noticed oil spots on driveway. Took it back to place that did oil change. They told me I had a crack in my oil pan and that it was caused by some sort of engine defect that causes engine oil pressure fluctuations that eventually cause the pan to crack. I believe NHTSA has opened an investigation into this issue.

My vehicle is consuming oil at an unacceptable rate. I have to put oil in it weekly and the oil indicator light doesn-??t work. It has been ongoing since I purchased it and the Hyundai service center said it was carbon build up which they had cleaned. It cost me over $500 and didn-??t solve the issues. It also doesn-??t always want to shift gears and feels like it-??s starting to go into limp mode. Which I had to have my vehicle towed last year and they said it was spark plugs. I am extremely disappointed and regret getting this -??certified-?? vehicle.

Starting in September 2022 the paint is peeling in several areas of 2017 Hyundai Santa fe with 36,000 miles. I have called many dealers around my area and No one will address this issue. All local Hyundai dealers refuse to address the recall. I called Hyundai corporate on several occasions and they refused to help me with this issue. I was told to find a dealer willing to paint it. There are not dealers with a Hyundai certified body shop that will paint it under the warranty. Hyundai sent a letter on Feb 13, 2023 stating the have extended the warranty but I am unable to get a dealer to repaint my peeling vehicle. Hyundai has refused to help me with this issue and told me if I cant find someone I will have to pay out of pocket for the paint to be fixed.

I own a Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2017 white pearl. On April 25th, 2022 I drove non-stop for a couple of hours. The car never before showed any symptoms and it is always parked in my indoor garage. When I left home it was in perfect condition and then when I reached the destination the hood had several paint peelings. I went to Hyundai Philpott in Nederland, TX and they told me that they are aware of this problem and that I should wait for a recall to be made since many cars like mine were having the same issue (especially the white ones).

Our engine keeps burning through oil, we have tried to work with Wilkins Hyundai service center and Hyundai's consumer affair. We have gone through their process of going in for oil changes at every 1,000 miles, however, oil has been burning before the required mark and we have gone in at 700 miles or less because the engine light goes on our engine knocks, the truck shakes, and the truck wants to shut off as we try to accelerate. We do not feel safe in our truck. How it began, towards the end of May, we called the service desk to disclose how we had an oil change and our truck had the oil light on, which was odd because we had just had an oil change. Wilkins service center asked us to take in the truck and they added the oil. Fast forward we have done this several times and we were asked to bring in the truck at 1000 miles, 700 miles, and we found ourselves coming in for oil changes sooner than the suggested miles. We were asked to follow their oil change procedure and come in three times then we will take a combustion test. To this day, we are receiving the run around with excuses and we have followed what the service center employees (past and present) have told us to do. During this time there have been major turnovers at the Wilkins service center and we have dealt with different employees with different excuses at the service center regarding our truck, even though we have complied with previous management. Regardless of who we dealt with, our vehicle was purchased there at Wilkins and has only been serviced there, new management has not been helpful with our situation that is not our fault. There is an issue with the engine we are aware of the HyundaiThetaEngineSettlement.com, as the service people should also be aware. We are now going on a month of no follow-up as to a resolution after we complied at our end, there is a paper trail, notes in their "system" and now they want us to restart the process all over again because of their error.

I bought a 2017 Santa Fe Sport October 26, 2020. The engine has been burning oil and over the past year, I have taken the vehicle to a local dealer to be looked. After multiple oil consumption tests in which there was on average of 1.5 quarts burned off in 1000 miles, the vehicle had the pistons taken out to remove excess carbon. This helped a little bit. After another round of 3 oil consumption test, in which my average oil burn is now.75 quarts/1000 miles, the dealer says that is considered normal. Really" By my calculations, my engine will burn 2.78 quarts of oil over the 3700 miles between oil changes. That cannot be right. How can that be good for the engine"

1.) on April 20, 2018 stopped on a hill for a red light when the light turned green and I took my foot off the brake and put on the gas, the car went backwards. This happened on a busy city/hospital district and thankfully no one was behind us. 3.) it happened again on July 21, 2018 on a city street with no one behind us. Dealership said they couldn't recreate this. 2.) when someone puts a pillow under them on the passenger seat the air bag does not work. This happens if the car is stationary and in motion.

I was driving the vehicle at about 45 mph, temperature about 80 degrees F, with the sunroof closed, when suddenly the sunroof exploded. This vehicle has a panoramic sunroof. The front section exploded, sending shards of glass all over inside the vehicle. Fortunately, we were able to safely pull over and call Hyundai roadside assistance. Unfortunately, they couldn't help us, so we vacuumed up the glass and put a tarp on the roof. Vehicle is currently at the dealership where Hyundai is replacing the roof under warranty. There was absolutely no object which impacted the roof; it just exploded!

The Santa Fe sport's blind spot detection system does not work as advertised. Over 50% of the time the bsd does not pick up vehicles in the blind spot. The amazing thing is the bsd consistently does not detect large vehicles; like semi-trucks, dump trucks, school buses, and panel trucks. The Santa Fe sport has been to the dealership twice to have the system checked out. Both times the dealership said that nothing was found wrong with the system. The sensors were checked for errors and calibrated both times. Both times we were told that there was nothing wrong, even though both a salesman and mechanic verified that the bsd system does not consistently work. Upon further questioning at the dealership, the Hyundai district office was contacted. The official response from Hyundai was the system is working as designed. The technical service bulletin 16-be-009 was referenced as an explanation for the system. This was released in December 2016. What Hyundai is saying is they designed, tested, and manufactured a safety system that is not reliable and does not do its intended safety function.
