Had hood repainted and now the peeling is occurring in two other locations on the vehicle. Definitely a factory defect.

I have 10+ areas of missing paint. Looks really great driving around with huge chunks of missing paint every where. I started out buying patch kits and painting over it, but the missing sections kept getting bigger and bigger so now I've given up. Now I just look ridiculous driving around. I used to be a huge Hyundai fan and was considering getting one for my next vehicle but due to this issue I'm not going to!

The car runs good and is in good condition, but the paint is peeling off. The body shop told me that the paint is not adhearing to the primer. He said that it was a factory defect. I have never seen a car do this before. I have been a loyal sonata buyer for many years, but I will have second thoughts now.

This car was purchased new. I can see now the difference in paint on trunk... it does not match the rest of the car. It is VERY subtle. Now the clear coat is peeling terribly on the trunk and I am past any warranty help at 65,000 miles. Have loved this car but no more Hyundais for me!!!

The pearl white paint on my 2006 Sonata LX 3.3 L V6 started to show signs of failure about 3 years ago. Initially it appeared as possible rock chips, but then unexpectedly started expanding to other areas including the windshield pillars, the roof, the hood, the doors, and the trunk. What was once a very well-maintained and nice-looking car has now turned into an embarrassment to drive. My wife and I have purchased 3 new Hyundai's dealer direct over the years and they couldn't give a s*** less. Everyone knows the paint and /or its application has been a complete failure, but no one gives a damn...
Hyundai basically told me (a former loyal customer) to go pound sand as it's out of warranty and not their problem...
