The tires that I am filing a complaint are, general tires exclaims,225/50/ZR17. These tires were purchased for my wife's car on 01/13/2011. Her car had 29,340 miles on it at the time they were installed by paramus Hyundai route4 East paramus, NJ. Her car at the present time has 47,990 miles on it, which means that she had only driven her car with these tires for 18,650 miles. I noticed that their was a weak spot "bubble" on the sidewall of the right rear tire. I had my wife take the car back to the dealer where we purchased the tires. The service manager informed her that three out of the four tires had weak spots and bubbles on the side walls of the tires and that general tires had discontinued the exclaims brand and that she must replace all four tires. I then notified general tires by email on 05/18/2013, and told them of the problem, and that I had registered the tires on their website and that they should have notified us of the problem. My wife could have been injured or even killed driving her car with three out of the four tires with "defects". they insisted that the weak spots and bubbles on the sidewalls were caused by "road hazards" without looking at them or checking them. I would agree if the defects were only two tires and both on the right side of the car but I do not agree when it entails three tires. Right front, left front, right rear. The person at general tire told me to take the car to a Continental dealer and have them inspect the tires which I did. The person that looked at the tires did not put the car on a lift he walked outside and looked at the tires in a parking space. He said that he did not think it was a defect but a "design error" that caused the weak spots and bubbles and thats why the tires were discontinued. If that's the reason then general tires should have replaced the tires and notified us of the problem. The D.O.T. no.S ps403R7, S403ry3S10, S403ry3710, ps403ry, would not fit in space provided on form. Thank you

The contact owns a 2006 Hyundai Sonata which houses pirelli cinturato P3000 tires, line size P215/60/R16. While driving, he would hear an echoing howl from the front driver's side tire. The vehicle was taken to a tire specialist where rotation and balance was performed on the vehicle. He continued to hear the noise from the tire after it was rotated and took the vehicle back to the tire specialist. The tire specialist advised him that there may have been an issue with the shock absorber on his vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer where they could not duplicate or diagnose the failure. They advised him that the tire may have been out-of-round and/or failing from the inside of the tire. The contact replaced the driver and passenger side front tires, which stopped the noise on the front driver's side of the vehicle. The failure mileage of the tire was 26,000 and the mileage on the vehicle at the time of the failure was 78,000. Updated 4/26/10 updated 05/06/10

The vehicle was traveling in the right hand lane, North bound on route 8 in Connecticut (in the area of torrington) at approximately 65 mph at 12:30 pm on the January 10, 2010. It was a clear and sunny day with temperatures in the low to mid 30's. there were two passengers in the car (in the front seat) and two snow boards and some snowboarding equipment in the trunk. With no previous indication of a problem, the side wall of the driver's side rear tire failed in two places with a loud bang and an immediate loss of pressure. As soon as it was safe (about a half mile as this section of the highway has no shoulder) the car was stopped and the tire changed. The two holes in the tire are approximately three inches apart. One is 1" by 2". the other is 1/2" X 1 5/8". both holes go through all layers of the tire. The material from the first hole was ejected from the tire. The air pressure in all tires was checked and set by key Hyundai of milford on November 14, 2009. The tread was checked by key Hyundai of milford on December 30, 2009 and found to be low but safe for a few thousand more miles. The exact tire line is energy mxv4 S8.

: the contact stated, the three tires on the newly purchased vehicle had cracks on the sidewall. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who determined that the sidewall of tire cracking was not a safety issue. The tires have not been replaced. The tires were inspected and it was determined that the tires were dry rotted. The tires were cracking aorund the rim. Updated 12/15/06.

After owning the car and driving it for less than 100 miles, there was a noticeable vibration on the around 60-75 mph. The tires were re-balanced and the condition remains. The vehicle was taken to another dealer and re-balanced and the problem continues. When I returned again to the purchasing dealer for this problem for a third time, I was provided a loaner vehicle (gls V-6) and it has the same problem, but more evident. When I received my vehicle, the problem remains.
