The air bag turns on and remains on. I found out that there has been a warranty extension for this vehicle, however, when I visited the dealership they simply sent me away stating that they don't have the parts and Hyundai is still working on it. It seems like Hyundai dealers are sending away customers without taking any responsibility or at least trying to order the part. My airbag light is still on and this is a safety issue that dealers are simply avoiding to address. The dealer did not even bother to check the car with a diagnostic tool, as soon as I mentioned the warranty extension they simply said they do not have the parts.

Air bag light comes when car is started and stays on until the ignition is switched off. Stays on whether the car is stationary or in motion. Not having air bag active in the event of need is a dangerous condition. Do not know condition that is causing air bag light to stay on. Other Sonata model years have a recall issued for this problem so I think the 2007 model years is related to the same problem but dealer says this auto is not under a recall for air bag light.

Takata recall my car dashboard indicates the airbag is on countinously and the passenger seat belt light is flashing even there is no one on the seat. I went to Hyundai dealer and they check the problem and the error code is B1447 but, they tell me this error is not recall for my car and they are ready to fix it but with buying about $1500 for just the part which is OCS sensor in the passenger seat plus the labor work I need your help for this issue, it is related to my family safety, please.

My air bag light has been on for over a year. Come to find out my air bag control module is faulty. An ase certified mechanic gracefully checked my air bag codes for free. This is now putting my life and anyone riding with me in danger seeing as none of my air bags will deploy. According to several forums I've seen, this is not a new problem. Hyundai needs to send out a recall on something that should never fail. My vehicle has never been in a collision.

The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator remained illuminated. The dealer (central avenue Hyundai, 111 S central ave suite 1, hartsdale, NY 10530, (315) 519-4437) indicated that they serviced the vehicle for an air bag recall. After the repair, the air bag indicator remained illuminated. The dealer stated that further diagnostic testing was required. The contact informed the dealer that the manufacturer's remedy failed to provide a permanent solution. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and indicated that they would provide a follow-up response to determine if they or the dealer would assist. The failure mileage was not available.

The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. Upon starting the vehicle, the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for diagnostic testing or repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 120,000. Consumer checked the NHTSA site found exactly same problem indicated by recall 08V-161, includes vehicle model year 2006-2008 Hyundai Sonata vehicles, but dealer and manufacturer both denied to cover consumer's vehicle under recall 08V-161. Sonata

  • 54,500 miles
The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. While the vehicle was stationary, the air bag indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to island Hyundai in stanton island, New York where diagnostic testing revealed that the OCS was faulty. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and referred the contact to the dealer to have the vehicle inspected for code: Txx3 (a sensor in the seat belt that may have malfunctioned). It was determined that NHTSA campaign number: 08V161000 (air bags) was directly related to the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 54,500.

The air bag light stays on all the time and the passenger seat belt light blinks whether someone is in the passenger seat or not. My mechanic told me the air bag sensor in the passenger seat no longer works, but he couldn't tell me if the air bag would deploy in an accident. I've read on the internet there was a recall on the passenger seat air bag sensor but when I called Hyundai corporate they couldn't find a recall. I think the recall was closed but it needs to be reopened again because this is very dangerous and the air bag sensor by itself costs almost $1,100 not including labor. A lot of people can't afford that and therefore will not get it fixed. Which means Hyundai is going to eventually get sued because of this problem. How many people are going to get seriously hurt or killed before Hyundai does something about this? I've read over and over on the internet that this is a real problem for people with Hyundai's. it's always the passenger air bag sensor that malfunctions. Thank you for anything you can do to get the Hyundai passenger air bag recalled.
