Air bag light is on and will not go off. In addition to that, passenger air bag light constantly blinks on/off, even when nobody is sitting in the seat. Vehicle has not been in a accident.

When the consumer purchased a battery from a mechanic, he took out a reader and read the code. Unfortunately, it was not one of the two codes, the dealer had given him. The car was involved in an accident in city streets of hialeah Florida on a 4 way stop(my son was driving) and was declared total loss by insurance company none of the airbags deployed. He hit mid drivers side of a a flat bed truck and front of my car was crushed. Thank god my son is ok. With the amount of damage on the car one of the airbags should have deployed. I have reported this incident to Hyundai and have not received any comment from them yet

After starting the ignition, the red "air bag" light near odometer stays lit. Orange "passenger air bag off" light stays lit even when someone is sitting in the passenger seat. These lights remain on regardless of whether the car is stationary or in motion. I had this problem once before a few years ago. The dealer removed the passenger seat and sent it off to be fixed. The issue also happens periodically if something gets stuck under the passenger seat. The wires and connectors under the passenger seat are exposed. However, this time there is nothing stuck under the seat and the air bag lights remain on.

Both of my visors have never stayed up, they are always down in my line of vision this probably started 6 months after I had the car. I took it to the dealer they stated it was not covered. A few years back the drivers side air bag light came on and is still on. The passengers air bag comes on and goes off regularly. My back break lights have had to be replaces several times, something is wrong with them. Again the dealer wanted to charge me to replace them after my husband had just replaced them. There are so many parts that are falling apart. The gear shift has broken and the back handles on the outside of the car are broken. My brakes rotate and the whole care shakes when I press on the breaks on the freeway. Now my back end is making noises. I bought this car new, but will never buy another car from Hyundai again, this is the worst car I have ever had. From the beginning I have had problems and the dealer never wanted to fix anything unless I payed for it. I am not paying for things that I did not break..

I went to a local garage to have my vehicle inspected which passed with no problem. As I was driving my car out of the garage I noticed that the air bag light was on and notified the attendant who shrugged it off and said it will probably go off on it's own. Needless to say it has been over a week and the light is still on. From everything I have seen, this is an on-going problem with this make and model and it sounds like a very expensive fix to the problem. It is also a danger because the air bags will not deploy in a crash. I think that Hyundai should definately do a recall on this asap.

My passenger airbag is no longer active. A dashboard light has come on / stays on, saying airbag not working and the passenger seat belt causes the dashboard light to constantly blink, because the occupant matt sensor is not functioning /code B1448 sensor has deactivated for the airbag. My 07 Sonata had a recall for airbag issue which I took to local dealer to have corrected. The dealer had to ship the seat cushion out to add padding to fix airbag light staying on. After a couple of months the airbag light came back on and I took it back to the dealer and they said it must be an issue with the seat. I've been waiting 2 weeks for Hyundai to contact the dealer to see if the will cover the cost to replace the seat due to the airbag issue. My spouse drives this car with my kids and it's unsafe to have to be driving around like this while they take their sweet time.

Re: investigation seat belt buckle electrical malfunction NHTSA action number: PE14023 NHTSA closed this investigation 12/1/14 on the condition that Hyundai would extend the warranty to 15 years and 250,000 miles for this repair. Per the letter attached to the case I contacted Hyundai today to get reimbursed for the expense related to this issue ($380.75). I spoke to two different reps at Hyundai and neither had any idea what I was talking about. So it's been three months since this case closed and Hyundai is not honoring the new extended warranty.
