2007 Hyundai Sonata driver side sun visor won't stay up or down. In up position hangs so low I can't see the car in front of me. In the down position it sticks out to where it all=most hits me in the forehead, but blocks the rear view mirror. Neither is safe. This is definitely a safety hazard. The only way to be able to see & drive is to hold the visor up with 1 hand. Driving with 1 hand is still a safety hazard in case of an emergency as well as exhausting on the arm!

Sun visor on driver side was put down to block sun. When pushing it back up out of the way, visor would not stay in up position against ceiling. Sun visor now will not stay up and continually droops down blocking my view while driving. I have researched this on the internet, and there are many other drivers who have encountered this same problem. I am assuming there is a part defect, and this should be recognized and fixed by Hyundai as it is a safety issue.

2007 Hyundai Sonata driver side sun visor keeps falling into my field of view. Every few seconds. All day long. It is a distraction and falls directly in front of my face. I have found hundreds of posts on the internet about this problem. I can't figure out a way to keep it from falling into my field of view without resorting to duct tape. I am constantly pushing it up, down, sideways. I might as well be texting. Dealer acknowledged that it was a very common problem and offered to fix it for $135. Same bad visor with bad design.

We have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata limited, purchased new. Within our warranty period (under 60,000 miles) the passenger visor would not stay up. At that time the dealer replaced it under warranty. Now it is happening again and they say it will cost us $130 to get it fixed. I guess because we are over the 60,000 miles the warranty will not cover it. It seems like others have had the same issue so I doubt this is an isolated issue.

While driving both visors above windshield fall, obstructing drivers view and causing distraction. I have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata and had the drivers side visor replaced twice and the drivers side visor is going to be replaced today for the 3rd time. I nearly went off interstate when visor fell down, due to the distraction caused. My Hyundai dealer informed me this is a very common problem and they have been keeping visors in stock. My dealer did not have an answer as to what, if anything, is being done to correct the root cause of the problem. I find it disturbing that through doing a search on the internet for "Hyundai visor problems", there are others experiencing the same problem and there does not seem to be a permanent solution offered. This could potentially result in injury, or loss of life, not only in my vehicle, but in other vehicles indirectly involved in an accident as a result of the problem mentioned.

The contact owns a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. While driving at 35 mph, the driver side sun visor fell into the contacts lap. She pulled over and later called the dealership. She was informed that there was no recall and she would have to pay for the repair at her expense. She called the manufacturer but was told that she was responsible for the repair costs. The current and failure mileages were approximately 86,000.

The sun visors in my car worked fine and then the next both of them stopped working. The sun visors will not stay in the up position and hand down in my line of sight which limits my vision. Recently, this failure of the sun visor caused me to run a red light because I could not see up.

2007 Hyundai Sonata - driver's side sun visor will not stay up or down. Has to be tied in up position or hits driver in the forehead. Very annoying, potential safety issue. Dealer says - "if vehicle under 60,000 miles, will replace under warranty." Seeing internet full of same problems, looks like it should be a safety recall free to owner no matter how many miles.

2007 Hyundai Sonata. Both sun visors: The plastic cracks, you hear a clicking noise then the visors will not stay up anymore. The visors hang down in your line of vision. I tried velco to fix but it is not strong enough so I literally sewed the visor to the roof of the car.

The sun visor over my driver side 2007 Sonata hangs straight down. I went to adjust it and it made a crackle noise and can no longer stay up and out of the way. This is blocking visibility of the traffic lights.

Hyundai Sonata, 2007. Under normal operating conditions, initially the passenger-side sunvisor started sagging, partially obstructing my (I.e. driver's) view. 2 weeks later the driver-side sunvisor also started sagging, thus seriously obstructing my view and hitting me in the head. I've contacted the dealership and Consumer Affairs and am awaiting a response.

Sonata

  • 89,000 miles
While traveling at night on the Ohio turnpike at posted speed limit, the drivers side sun visor suddenly dropped down from its normal stowed position against the headliner directly into my line of vision. This caused a brief loss of vision of the road ahead and a momentary loss of vehicle control. Sun visor would no longer stay in stowed position and had to be forcibly removed in order to safely continue my trip.

I have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata with a problem with the sun visor. In three years I have had to replace the drivers side twice and the passenger side once. When it fails the visor drops down and you can't see past it. I have checked the internet only to find this is a common and dangerous situation.

The sun visors in the 2007 Hyundai Sonatas are getting to hot and melting. I have tried to pull down both visors and the both have cracked and broke. I am a fairly tall person and now when I push the visors back up they continue to fall back down in front of my face. I think this is a factory issue that needs to be fixed at their expense.
