Run out of fuel while on the highway. Almost hit by a big truck while coasting from middle lane to the side of the road.
Replaced the fuel pump/sending unit assembly for no avail. The tank will be empty/on fumes and the gauge will still indicate 1/4 of a tank full.
Measured both sending units, both have perfect resistance, as indicated by Hyundai. When the sending unit floating arm is all the way up the gauge will indicate full tank. When the arm is all the way down the fuel gauge will indicate 1/4 tank still.
The issue is not the fuel gauge sending unit nor any of the connectors contacts at the fuel pump.
No specific fuel gauge reset procedure found anywhere yet.
