paint is peeling paint is peeling

Disappointed to know that this was the worst paint job I have ever seen on a car. I had a Honda Odyssey van and a Ford Ranger both 2001 models with good paint. My Sonata is a 2010 and it is dull peeling and horriible paint. I am hoping that Hyundai will do the right thing and fix the problems on these cars. Will not consider them in a few years when I am car shopping because of the customer service.

paint is peeling paint is peeling

My car is a 2010 Hyundai Sonata. I bought this car used in 2013 and recently the paint started to peel off. I had visited the dealership that I had bought it at and they said that our warranty did not cover paint. We then contacted corporate who tried to tell us that our warranty was first only for 5 years which then they changed and said the warranty was only 3 years and would not cover anything about the defect. This problem is clearly a factory defect and Hyundai should give compensation for it.

The paint is peeling on my white Hyundai Sonata (2010), on the hood, roof, and most recently sides of the vehicle. The roof and hood are peeling so badly that they are beginning to rust out. It is going to cost somewhere between $3000-$7000 to fix this issue. And my care isn't even worth that much money.

The paint on my 2010 Hyundai Sonata is completely falling off and is only getting worse. I contacted Hyundai in 2015 about the issue and the best they could do was give me a $200 credit for a $3000 problem. They told me that many things such as "bird droppings or driving on the highway" can cause the paint to come off. I have seen multiple other owners who have posted pictures that look very similar to mine. It is absolutely disgraceful that Hyundai will not take responsibility for putting a defective product on the streets.

Again white peeling on roof just like other vehicles, I starting to believe we have a problem boys. Hyundia get off your lazy butts and do something. You make plenty of money off us so help fix this problem. Just another sorry automobile maker.

the paint on the hood is coming off

I certainly feel that this is a problem that should be addressed and fixed by Hyundai. I personally know of another Hyundai Sonata here in Fort Walton Beach, Fl with the same exact problem. This is not due to neglect of the owner. I have taken good care of my car and there is no reason for the paint ona 2010 automoblie to be coming off. Thank you

Hyundai USA cannot be trusted.I purchased an extended warranty,10 years 100,000 miles warranty. BUMPER TO BUMPER! PAINT IS NOT COVERED! I see hundreds of cars every week older than mine and more miles, with no paint problems. 15 year old cars with over 100000 miles with perfect paint. My Sonata is now 5 1/2 years old with 53000 miles, nd paint is peeling from hood, top, door and trunk. The repair garage I went to told me Hyundai has known about the problem with white paint for years. Don't trust Hyundai.

What you expect from a full size car like Hyndai Sonata ->>>> Paint Peeling off at 100K miles????? Do we have to ride the car another 200K with out paint???. People all over the internet is complaining about this issue and Hyundai is not even recalling the Pearl White Hyundai Sonata Cars to check the issue. Heck with you Hyundia. I won't buy your car or recommend any one your cars. I will do a free publicity not to buy your cars any more to all my friends.

Car paint should be covered when you did nothing wrong. Hyundai you should fix this peeling paint.

Update from Jan 1, 2018: 98000 and new peeling on roof next to front window. This is Awful. The paint on this car is Awful. No one should have to experience this and yet I hear from others with this particular color having the same nightmar

It started out a couple of years ago looking like little chips but they kept getting bigger and peeling. Our exterior color is a pearl white. I took it to a body shop for an estimate. He said that it is definitely a factory problem. For him to fix it by just repainting the roof and hood and blending in the fenders would be at least $2000 b/c it is a 3 coat process. To repaint the whole car would be about 5 - 6000. Our car is a 2010 Sonata with about 80,000 miles. I took it to our local Hyundai dealer where we have purchased 2 cars (but this one we bought used elsewhere). It seems that we are over the warranty so it probably wont be covered but they are going to submit it on my behalf and "try" to get it covered. Has anyone had success in getting Hyundai to cover a new paint job? Thanks for your input!!!

A recurring problem. New spots continue to pop up for peeling paint. The largest, original spot is palm size. Others vary from dime to silver dollar. Once it starts, it spreads at the edges. I put primer on spots to prevent rust.

I have taken my car to several body shops and they all say the same thing, it's a defect in the paint where the primer did not work in sealing with the paint.

paint is peeling paint is peeling paint is peeling paint is peeling

My car has been garaged and cleaned regularly. The paint across the front windshield started peeling. It is getting worse and even starting to rust in other areas on the top that haven't peeled. Soon after the roof the hood and top of the headlights started peeling too. I have researched and see that this is a pretty big problem with Hyundai's and should be recalled and fixed.
