Around August 2020, I had a an aftermarket alternator installed in my car by a local mechanic. This was an expensive repair. I had no idea this would be a problem.

In April 2021, the dealership service department informed that the aftermarket alternator was inadequate. They said aftermarket alternators don't work well Hyundais. Apparently, the alternator issue will cause my battery to eventually drain and I will not be able to start the car when this happens, i.e., I will be stranded. They recommended another EXPENSIVE alternator replacement using only Hyundai brand parts.

Wow. I had no idea that an aftermarket alternator was put in my car in the first place. I just had it fixed, not knowing Hyundais require Hyundai brand alternators. I did not even think to ask about it.

Sucks.
