The leather steering wheels have rubberized parts that are easily dinged up just from driving with rings on your fingers. They were able to replace these covers in Sept, 2014. But shortly afterwards, the new covers look almost as bad as the old ones. In any of the other cars I have driven this type of defect has never been present. What a design flaw! They need to back to using the full leather steering wheel covers and give up this rubber stuff. Its a waste and looks cruddy!

On the driving steering wheel on the lower control buttons the paint is pealing of, it peals more when the steering wheel is hot. Its been easy to rub off. I makes the steering wheel look unsightl. I considered trying to scrape the rest of the pain off and just leave it black, but I think I may be able to spray paint it back or try a different quality paint that wont rub off.

The paint started to peel off of the window switch panels and steering wheel plastic ornament. Apparently, the paint is some cheap rubber coating and gets worn off very easily. I brought the issue to the dealers attention and the dealer replaced just the steering ornaments under warranty.

The steering wheel is from a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited and has black leather with wine (burgundy) colored inset. This burgundy color is peeling off. Hyundai replaced my steering wheel due to this in early 2014, but about 3 months after replacement, it is doing it again. I completely avoid touching that area, but it still happened. There should be a paint that replaces what they are currently using to something that would permanently adhere to the wheel, because what they are using now, does not and ends up peeling off. It also seems to peel off more on the left side of the wheel, more than the right.

I'm very upset with the owner of the car lot and service dept. where I purchased the car. They just brushed it off as its my fault, "its coming off because of lotions and hand sanitizer that's on your hands". That's BULL!! I've never seen this happen before and I've had several cars in the past and used lots of lotions!!

So its Hyundai default and they should correct this problem!!!
