12/29/20 After replacing my taillight 6 times in one year I alerted the dealership something was wrong. The left rear wiring harness was slightly melted and corroded. I expressed that this was fire safety issue and should be covered by Hyundai. Found multiple reviews online with this car and same issue. I paid the bill 254.48 and opened a case with Hyundai Corp and after much time and effort on my part they did credit me back the money. Unfortunately.... in 2023 the other side had the same issue melted wiring harness. Hyundai will not own the chronic safety issue. I contacted Corp and gave them previous case number 1786266 and they declined ownership. I will create another post for this issue. This car has been a nightmare with over 14 recalls and then not taking ownership on chronic issues!

10/26/22 My taillight was out. I bought a new bulb but was unable to replace the bulb since the wiring harness was warped/damaged from overheating. The dealership quoted me 463.00 to repair this issue. I explained that in 2020 I had same issue. The dealership charged me 254.48 to fix. I opened a case with Hyundai Corporation case# 17586266. After a lot of effort on my part they did send me a check. This new re-occurring issue I opened case 20500590 and the dealership or corporate would not take any ownership.
Many complaints online with others having same issue of melted wiring harness and replacing taillights multiple times in one year. I located the part on amazon for much cheaper than Hyundai quoted me and had a friend install. Not sure how long this will last. What is causing these wiring harnesses to melt? Clearly a safety issue if a fire starts! Extremely disappointed in Hyundai dealerships, Corp and in this 2011 Sonata. POS car! Don't buy one!
