This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Hyundai dealer.
Battery died on me twice. First time I was about to take my family to the park. Car wouldn't start, called a friend to jump it. Drove it about ten miles everything seemed ok. Today, my son and I were leaving big lots and car wouldn't start. Called Hyundai waited 1 hour to get a jump. Going to take it to the dealership. Maybe new battery is needed.

I am not sure what kind of problem I have; neither do the Hyundai service people. Three times my horn has begun to blow for no reason. The first time it blew until it blew a fuse. Our friendly auto parts people found the fuse and replaced it. After it did it again, I went to the Hyundai dealer. The only thing they could say was that it happened if we used the remote to lock the doors and then used the key to unlock them. I never use the key, always the remote. The third time it happened it blew until it ran the battery down, leaving us stranded in a parking lot with the temperature hovering around 30 degrees. Instead of going back to the dealer, I am on my way to trade it.

One week ago yesterday my husband had to jump his truck off using my Sonata. Car started acting up a few days later as far as not wanting to crank with initial Push Start. Finally yesterday (weekend day) the car wouldn't crank at all so battery had to be replaced. Hyundai dealership covers new batter for up to 3 yrs Pro-Rated-so first 2 yrs they'll replace for free and 3rd yr they will reimburse 25% of battery cost with a return on the dead battery. The core charge at auto shop was $15 which means taking old battery to Hyundai for warranty coverage would have initially been $30 back but with the core charge we would've basically only been getting back $15...not worth it!! Extremely frustrating that battery went dead for no apparent reason-still unsure as to whether my husband trying to jump his v6 off of my car might've affected my battery. Will be having alternator tested to see if maybe it is not recharging battery the way it should be.

I had the vechicle service and battery test came out GREEN and in next 2 days I have a dead battery. Service technician claims these days battery are made of recycle material and hence lifetime is short < =2 years. This is not acceptable and I have a HONDA Accord which has similar wear and tear with the similar year/miles and it doesn't have issues with battery so far. I suspect something is wrong and Hyundai doesn't want to accept. I will figure out soon as I changed my battery and lets see how long it lasts.

Battery dies every once in a while even the car is driven almost daily. Problem occurs sometimes in a few as three days and sometimes takes 7-14 days. Hyundai has tried to diagnose the problem on three different occasions. Last diagnosis was to clean all grounding points. New battery installed by Hyundai. Two weeks later and the battery is dead again.
Car was purchased (used) from the Hyundai Dealer with mileage at approximately at 33474.

Started in July 2016, 2 yr old battery was dead. Since I live in AZ I was told batteries last about 2 years. Replaced the battery and went out of town. My husband returned 4 days later and the battery was dead. He replaced the new battery thinking it was defective. I returned home from a trip and the car was dead again. Had it towed to the dealership. They replaced a computer module and the battery and said it was fixed. Went out of town in October, car was dead after sitting 3-4 days. Returned to the dealership, they proceeded to tell me it was the bad fuses in my after market auto start. Removed the fuses. December the battery died again even though the car had been driven everyday. Back to the dealership. While the technician was sitting in the car one day, no key in the ignition the radio started to play. They replaced the radio system and so far a month later its ok. Looking back i used to hear music late at night while in bed, not realizing it was my radio 20 ft away in the garage.
