Rear brake lights frequently go out and or melt in the casing. I have replaced the brake light assembly kit on the left and right side 2x. Hyundai will not honor this issue when I was in warranty and of course they will not while I am now out of warranty.
I contacted Hyundai and have a case number hoping for some resolution.

We have checked ever fuse, and running all possible checks , but this could have been very dangerous for our 17 yr old daughter who drives this car...

This is an ongoing problem, the plastic that the tail light bulb is attached to is melting and i have had to replace the tail light casing already recently. Since the replacement, i replaces a bulb and the plastic is starting to look burned again. two weeks since i replaced that bulb, the light is out again. This is ridiculous that the problem is not a recall since it is obviously and issue. if i have to spend money on the tail light casing again i am getting rid of the car and buying a toyota!

I have changed my tail and brake lights literally 5 times in the past 5 months. They keep going out, I am sure they should not go out this often. I believe there is an electrical short somewhere.

The dealership said the light is melted in the socket. They want to rewire the back tail lights. $800. They did a quick fix so I could drive it but said it was temporary. Well the light went out - 5 months later - I'm taking it in for tomorrow for NO AIR CONDITIONING - blows HOT AIR - 110 degrees outside! We will see what they do!!
