The contact owns a 2012 Hyundai Sonata. While driving 45 mph and changing lanes, the steering column made a clicking sound without warning. The failure recurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the steering rack was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.
