One day I gradually found about an 8 inch crack on top of the airbag on the dashboard on the passenger side. Within 3 days, the crack is about 12 inches long. This is sad and concerning, as this car has predominantly been parked within a parking garage most of its existence. This crack is not normal to a car with 7 years and no misuse of the vehicle. I took it to the dealer and got that its out of warranty, we can file a claim and it was declined.
After much research and personally looking at this same cars on the street, this is a common issue that Hyundai refuses to acknowledge. Many people I spoke to just thought it was normal wear and tear and have not reported it. My other car (not a Hyundai) of 20+ yrs old and in the sun all day and has no dashboard cracks. I also have an alternate vehicle that's 12 years old without issues. I am very much concerned now with the integrity of the passenger airbag as the crack remains. Will it extend or compromise the airbag or even cause the airbag to deploy?!

Only want to say that this should never occur on this type of car, especially if the person always takes care of it and also
it has not been driven much. For a retired person like me, this type of problems should never occur.
I hope Hyundai company think about this more often, not only when you acquire a car that has not cost $50.00.
