Headlights flicker when driving and entire dashboard lights go out. This vehicle uses the same parts as the 2014 Kia soul and this issue was resolved for the Kia soul on technical service bulletin no. Ele093. A quick google search will show that this is a normal problem for 2013 Hyundai Sonata vehicle owners. This needs to be a recall or a tsb with owner communication to be fixed rapidly.

Headlights and tail lights are constantly burning out way earlier than they should. They are being installed properly. I have researched this issue and found lots of other Hyundai owners experiencing the same problem. This is a big safety issue as I don't always know when they are burnt out.

I have had both my back light harnesses where a bulb has blown and it was so hot it melted the bulb ends into the socket and I had to replace the whole harness for one side and might have to replace it for the other side as well. The vehicle inside dash lights would also start flickering off and on as well as the outside lights while the vehicle is in motion. This is concerning to me and I know they have had numerous complaints on this and it is a safety issue, but yet they have not done any recalls. Why please advise.

On numerous occasions, I am pulled over for having a left tail-light that is out. I have utilized my local Hyundai dealership recently to address the situation as I frequently change the light bulb out, and end up with yet the same light out within days/weeks. After I have paid the dealership roughly $75 to get a 'brake switch' replaced to address the problem, my light is out once again.

My right brake lights are always going out. I'm always changing it and a few weeks later it will go out again. I've brought it to the shop (allen Hyundai, gulfport, ms) and I got my 'brake lamp stopper' replaced and he said my lights should work fine. I originally brought it in because my 3rd brake light would stay on while I'm driving and it would cause me to not be able to accelerate while driving. It goes now, but seems like it has trouble catching speed. I've spoke to other Sonata owners and they too have problems with their right brake light going out. It's a hazard and it also can give us tickets from the police. Please have this looked in to.

The tail light bulbs continue to go bad. I replace bulbs almost 2 a month. I recently just got stopped Saturday May 30 2020 for a non functioning tail light. I replaced it 10 min later and today June 1 2020 it went out again. There's obvious sign of why this keeps happening but I've spent so much money on bulbs its ridiculous.

Having to replace exterior back running / brake light bulbs at least or near every 2 months. Noticed that maybe the bulb is getting to hot causing the lens to wrap which is making changing the bulb a real task and hard to get the bulb back in place. Getting ready to change it again today (3/10/2020).

I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and for the past year and a half every month I'm having to replace the driver side brake light it keeps burning up and melting I have contacted Hyundai numerous times about this with no resolution to the problem from them.. for the past two years my steering column has been making a weird clicking noise in the steering is extremely loose I have contacted Hyundai about this situation as well and have taken the car to a mechanic for both reasons the brakes and the steering and they say that they are constantly having people with high on days come in with these exact same problems

All exterior lights on the car are continuously having to be replaced. Drivers side brake light caught fire and melted the assembly. Bulb will no longer fit or cannot be mounted because of the melted assembly. Brake light even though its been changed works sporadically. This causes more than one safety issue. Car has no brake light on one side and could at anytime catch on fire. Dealership has said this is a problem among these vehicles but Hyundai is not yet addressing. This is a manufacture defect and could cause serious injury if not death.

I was driving home from work and then all of a sudden my headlights went out, so I pulled over checked my bulbs and they were perfectly fine not burned out neither was the fuse, I was stumped so I called my insurance carrier to have my vehicle towed home. The next day I called the dealership and they told me to take the vehicle in to diagnose the issue only to charge me $95 for a find of the wiring in the headlights to be affected, ive read online other consumers are having issues with the same thing not to mention the manufacturer having over 5 recalls for these vehicle which considers them as lemon vehicles under the California lemon law

Both headlights and break lights continue going out. First time I replaced the break lights, they had melted to the unit. I have had both headlights go out at the same time on two separate occasions. I have replaced the alternator twice now and it is looking like I will have to replace it again soon, headlights are getting dull (it's hard to see, and my brights won't click on (it is not the blinker column)), the battery has been replaced when the alternator was replaced as well. This is getting expensive. The dealership told me it was the blinker column when it was actually the alternator. Replacing the lights have been happening for years, the alternator problem started last year, so within 2 months of replacing it the first time, it went out again, and now 5 months later, it is needing to the be replaced again. It appears that it is perhaps an electrically issue since lights, battery, and alternator are going out.
