Having to replace exterior back running / brake light bulbs at least or near every 2 months. Noticed that maybe the bulb is getting to hot causing the lens to wrap which is making changing the bulb a real task and hard to get the bulb back in place. Getting ready to change it again today (3/10/2020).

I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and for the past year and a half every month I'm having to replace the driver side brake light it keeps burning up and melting I have contacted Hyundai numerous times about this with no resolution to the problem from them.. for the past two years my steering column has been making a weird clicking noise in the steering is extremely loose I have contacted Hyundai about this situation as well and have taken the car to a mechanic for both reasons the brakes and the steering and they say that they are constantly having people with high on days come in with these exact same problems

All exterior lights on the car are continuously having to be replaced. Drivers side brake light caught fire and melted the assembly. Bulb will no longer fit or cannot be mounted because of the melted assembly. Brake light even though its been changed works sporadically. This causes more than one safety issue. Car has no brake light on one side and could at anytime catch on fire. Dealership has said this is a problem among these vehicles but Hyundai is not yet addressing. This is a manufacture defect and could cause serious injury if not death.

I was driving home from work and then all of a sudden my headlights went out, so I pulled over checked my bulbs and they were perfectly fine not burned out neither was the fuse, I was stumped so I called my insurance carrier to have my vehicle towed home. The next day I called the dealership and they told me to take the vehicle in to diagnose the issue only to charge me $95 for a find of the wiring in the headlights to be affected, ive read online other consumers are having issues with the same thing not to mention the manufacturer having over 5 recalls for these vehicle which considers them as lemon vehicles under the California lemon law

Both headlights and break lights continue going out. First time I replaced the break lights, they had melted to the unit. I have had both headlights go out at the same time on two separate occasions. I have replaced the alternator twice now and it is looking like I will have to replace it again soon, headlights are getting dull (it's hard to see, and my brights won't click on (it is not the blinker column)), the battery has been replaced when the alternator was replaced as well. This is getting expensive. The dealership told me it was the blinker column when it was actually the alternator. Replacing the lights have been happening for years, the alternator problem started last year, so within 2 months of replacing it the first time, it went out again, and now 5 months later, it is needing to the be replaced again. It appears that it is perhaps an electrically issue since lights, battery, and alternator are going out.

I have had to change the brake light and taillight bulbs every 2 or 3 months since I bought it in 2016. One of my lights is out again. I could not find a recall on it. I have spoken with other Hyundai Sonata owners and they are having the same issue. The housing is melting as well, making it most difficult to remove the bulbs. Not having brake lights is definitely a safety issue and hazard. The cost should not be on the owner as this has become a multiple, multiple vehicle problem. I cannot go through inspection with no brake lights and can get tickets while driving. This issue needs immediate attention and relief.

While driving down the road both interior and exterior lights shut off or blink out. This happens spontaneously or sometimes when using the turn signal. The front head lights and rear tail lights burn out frequently requiring replacement at least twice a year.

We have replaced the back brake light bulbs multiple times. Now the back right rear break light isn't working right. We took it to Hyundai and they said it was melted and the part we need to replace the wiring harness and just the part is over $400. I am not spending $400 on something that seems to be a manufacturer issue!! how has Hyundai not submitted a recall for this? there seems to be plenty of complaints about it.

I feel like I'm investing more money into this vehicle than I should. You guys know that these Hyundai Sonata 2013+ has electrical issue and should have a recall to be fixed. My horn doesn't work and my tail lights are melting after I just payed to get them fixed. This is a safety hazard !!!!!!! you guys need to get this right, it doesn't take more than 24hrs to do a investigation and approve the recalls for people to get their cars fixed, I will never buy a Hyundai again.

Hyundai is not going to do anything about hundreds to thousands of people having problems with brake light assemblies melting. I am about to file a class action lawsuit. I am concerned that me or my kids are going to be killed due to this. These bulbs have been replaced hundreds of times. They are blaming it on using bulbs that are not purchased from the dealership and that is ridiculous.

1.break light in back window remains on...as though break is depressed, when parked. Stays on 24/7! will not go off! I have tried placing the top of my foot up under break, and lightly pulling up; light flickers off for a second...in this upward motion, and then quickly returns to solid light! 2.accelerator intermittently de-accelerates...with no warning, which is dangerous when pulling into oncoming traffic, or on highway...when trying to stay with the flow of traffic. I have to keep pumping accelerator, until it "engages", once again. Very dangerous!

This car's left-rear brake light always has some problem, it burns out very often. Recently, I found that the plastic bulb holder was burned and melted too. I have read from the internet, the Hyundai 2013 Sonatas have the same common problems, not just my car has it. The brake light may burn out very often, I am afraid that I may get police ticket because of the brake light problem, and if some other vehicle hit my car in the back, the consequence will be hard. I know that Hyundai will recall certain model year 2011-2012 Sonata vehicles manufactured between Dec. 11, 2009 and June 30, 2011, according to a letter the NHTSA sent Hyundai. My car is 2013 Sonata, can I expect a recall from Hyundai to fix my car's brake light problem?

This is the second time the bulb in the back brake light melted into the socket and I've changed the bulb on the passenger side multiples times just this year. We replaced the entire brake socket when we first purchase the car and I believe now that there's a manufacturer defect and I shouldn't have to replace the brake light and socket and pay labor cost to have this replaced again.

The contact owns a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. While operating the vehicle, the driver's side tail light was inoperable. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the rear driver's side tail light wiring harness was faulty, melted, and deformed due to overheating. The vehicle was taken to terry lee Hyundai and the wiring harness was replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided case number: 16214958. The failure mileage was 80,000.

My rear passenger tail light keeps shorting out. Ive replaced the bulb half a dozen times now. Ive even replaced the tail lamp housing and it keeps blowing the light. This is a very common issue with these cars and the manufacturer needs to take responsibility for it and replace it under a recall. Why should I be responsible for it? theyre the ones selling defective junk to the public. Ive had numerous problems with this car. The absolute worst car ive ever owned. Ive even had the engine replaced under recall. Totally unacceptable.
