Sonata GLS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,000 miles

Same issue as others reported. The first time this happened I was driving down the road in the rain and the headlights starting flashing off and on without warning. During that incident, my windshield wipers also stopped working. I pulled over and turn the car off, then back on and the issues stopped. Happened many other times but only when I used the turn signal. Mechanic suggested it was a wiring issue but the cost to rewire it was just far too much.

Sonata

  • Automatic transmission

While driving down the road, my headlights will flicker on and off just randomly. Also occurs when I go to use my blinker. Complained to Hyundai dealer that I bought the car from - they didn't have a response or solution because they could not make it happen while they had the car. *sigh and SMH!!

I went out at night and went to leave to come home and both low beam headlights were not working🤔..The light on dash for lights was showing lights are on... Everything else works brake lights, blinkers, high beams but NO LOW BEAMS. WTF? Usually if it is the bulb it would go out 1 or other.. 🤔I never saw both stop working at the same time. Now I can only use high beams to get home... I hope this is a easy fix 😢

Sonata 2.4L Gdi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 76,000 miles

At night time while driving with my lights on, every time I turn the turning signal on the interior, lights flash and the headlights blink. I feel this is very dangerous. When I went to the dealership they wanted to charge more than I could afford to pay, especially for a manufacturers malfunction!!!

Sonata GLS V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 58,000 miles

Similar to the report from Kingston, GA. Was switching lanes at night and when I used the turn signal, the low beam headlights shut off. I had to manually turn them back on. It was as though the switch was turning too far past the on position. This happened on a few other occasions. Then, on 8/1/16, I thought it happened again but both headlights burned out at the same time. The odds of that happening are very slim so I think it may be some type of short in the switch.

I took it to the dealer for warranty work, that's where they found both headlights burned out. When I could not recreate the problem, they said it is just a coincidence and sent me on my way. Gave me his card and told me to call him if it happened again.
