I had less that 1000 miles on the car and there was some dust over the clock. I wanted to wipe it off so I wet my finger thinking it would be less abrasive than a dry finger and wiped over the clock display. I saw streaking and just put it to the fact I had used a wet finger. Later when I had a glasses cleaning cloth I wiped it to remove the smear marks and then noticed the scratches I have made when I had wiped it with my finger. So now I only use the soft optical cleaning cloth to wipe any of the dash components. I don't want to scratch the speedo area.
