This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Hyundai dealer.
Engine seized due to connecting rod bearing failure. According to a mechanic, this is a huge problem with these engines because Hyundai uses super cheap crappy bearings. It should have been covered under warranty extension, but an unrelated recall had not been fixed and I didn't even know about it but regardless, this gave them a loophole and they would not pay to fix or replace my engine.

Bought new 2018 Hyundai Sonata. Dealer installed update and after 25 miles the engine went bad. Hyundai has the car for 3mo. now and still not repaired. Today they said it might need a new wiring harness. {3 MONTHS} No results. Want a new car! You agree??

Had this car for 4.5 years, bought it BRAND new!!! Already have had to replace the alternator, fuel pump, and battery. On Friday, July 21, 2023, while I was driving on the highway, the check engine started flashing and the car started losing speed considerably. Took it to Midas and they told me that the engine was burning an excessive amount of oil; hence why it was barely going over 40 mph; then took it to the dealership closest to my house, and they told me that were backed up for 3 MONTHS with other car owners having the SAME ISSUE!!! Plus, they were out of loaners, so now I have pay out of pocket to rent a car to get to work.... SO disappointed with Hyundai at the moment!!!!!
P.S: Fortunately, my warranty covers the damage, but it's SO frustrating!!!!!
