A hairline crack in the oil pan causing oil leak.
After researching the issue, I found that this is a common problem with Hyundai 2.4 engines. Many owners have reported the exact same issue, with the size and direction of the cracks being identical to that in my car. Despite the prevalence of this problem, I was disappointed to hear that Antwerpen Hyundai at Clarksville, MD is blame me for the crack. Hyundai dealers are very creative to blame customer for the defects.
NHTSA is aware of this problem. I hope the engines should be recalled soon

There's a crack in the oil pan - it's leaking a good amount of oil and needs to be replaced. I don't know if it's covered by a warranty.

This is a massive problem and they refuse to acknowledge it. This is similar to the GM Diesel recall in 1984 . Honda refuses to admit there is a problem. I filed a complaint by joining DDOG which forced GM to reimburse owners for all repairs. See Washington Post article August 4 1984. Honda owners need to start a similar organization. we cannot do anything independently..
