The high voltage battery in my 2017 Sonata PHEV died under warranty on Nov 3, 2021, rendering the car undrivable. Over the next 8 months Hyundai claimed that the part was back ordered and refused to repair the car or offer a buyback. I pursued a non-lemon law buyback through arbitration (bbb), and eventually won a buyback decision. The buyback process allows Hyundai to calculate the repurchase amount using a formula supplied by the bbb. Hyundai deliberately miscalculated the repurchase amount by over $2000, forcing me to submit another claim with the same arbitrator, which I again won. I finally had the car repurchased on March 25, 2023. Hyundai is an absolutely awful company that should be avoided like the plague.
