Manual transmission clutch premature wear out or failure. See all attached web sites. townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.F0C9eb6; www.carsurvey.org/reviews/Hyundai/Tiburon/R72880/comments/; www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2006/Hyundai/Tiburon/clutch this is 4-6 years of complaints from different owners this should be addressed. If one person can find other people with different year vehicles of the same problem. Do we have to have people killed before you take action on any situation. A check valve and spring may be removed to remedy this dangerous situation. It causes the car to lurch of buck unexpectedly. Possibly causing a rear end collision.

My clutch went out of my car after thirty five thousand miles. I understand that it is a wear item but I know how to drive stick and that is way to soon for it to go out. Now it has been another thirty five thousand miles and it is going out again. I talked to others who have had the same problem. There should be a recall on the 2006 Hyundai Tiburon. When the clutch went out it was fine one day and grabbing at the floor the next it didn't get progressively bad. Other Tiburon owners were only getting twenty five thousand miles out of their clutches, so clearly this is a huge problem.

Clutch on 2006 Hyundai Tiburon has loads of problems. Car barely functions and I have been driving manual transmission my whole life. Full warranty will not cover because they claim it is "wear" related. It is not. Started at only 25,000 miles.

I have a 2006 Hyundai tiboron and the clutch went after only 33,000 miles. Absolutely unheard of! the warranty that's supposed to be so wonderful, is only for 12,000 miles or one year on the clutch! I have heard about many other people saying how badly made the clutch parts are on the Hyundai's. they should be called out on it, it's a safety issue.

I have a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon V6 5-speed. The manual transmission broke at 49,000 miles - not just the clutch, but all the major components of the transmission. This is a very common problem with this model - there has already been a class action law suit involving this model, but earlier years (03-04 - same car as the 06). Hyundai will not fix the problem and has not recalled the vehicles.

Twice within a 3 1/2 years. There was no evidence prior to both clutch failures. Driving as normal and bam out of no where car will not accelerate. First time was on high in North Carolina. Second time on lie in New York. Each time car put in shop and coat of replacing clutch was $2000 the first clutch old parts are not available but this time the car is presently in the shop so old parts can be saved.

2006 Hyundai Tiburon SE V6 has 32,000 miles on it. Never beat or raced. Clutch was working fine one day. I went to go for a ride in my car the next day and couldn't get out onto the road. I barely made it to the side of the road to have the car towed! now the dealership is quoting me $2600 for a repair. The clutch is not covered under warranty but my gut feeling is that this isn't a problem with the clutch! it has to be a problem with the design. Please help! I own a 2006 V6 Hyundai Tiburon. At 28,000 miles my clutch began to give me problems. I went to the dealership they found a major hydraulic leak in my master and slave cylinders. They thought that might have been the problem and replaced them under warranty. It did not fix the problem and I have to replace the clutch and flywheel.

1. the 2006 Hyundai Tiburon SE that I am the original owner of has been driven almost daily to and from work. I was driving the vehicle today and the clutch starting slipping, I did not drive any differently than I do normally. 2. I had the clutch for the first time ever start slipping today. I was driving up a slight hill and gave the car gas and it started revving up but not actually accelerating. I immediately let off the gas pedal and the rpms came down and reengaged the motor when the transmission should be. This was non-normal operation for the car and I was concerned that if I were to disengage the clutch that I would not be able to engage the clutch and drive the car home. 3.I have taken no action to rectify the problem but was directed to this site from www.newtiburon.com/forums/showthread.php"T=65973 www.newtiburon.com/forums/showthread.php"T=64779 and have been informed that my 2006 Hyundai Tiburon SE may potentially have a clutch problem and has only been a lawsuit filed on the 2003 and 2004 Tiburons with the six speed transmission.

Purchased brand new Oct 2006 in this order... I know a few things are missing. Clutch master cylinder failure - couldn't get the car back in gear. Pulls to the right all the time even though it is in "perfect alignment" according to dealer. Terribly uneven tire wear even with 3K mile tire rotations. 2 inside sidewall blow outs. 1 tread separation blowout 2 idler pulley failures. Windshield wiper motor failure. Windshield washer pump failure. Sunroof motor and switch failure. Bent rim. Air conditioning wire short which resulted in ac clutch failure just after 60,000 (of course) ac clutch failure results in constant bearing squealing. Aluminum clutch pedal cover fell off and they wouldn't replace it. Rear hatch release works about half the time. I know there's more, I just can't recall all of it right off.

2006 Hyundai Tiburon seems like a high performance sports car. And it looks slick, but something about its manual clutch, fly wheel, master cylinder, presser plate, all that and more. Makes this 06 tibby a peace of bad engineering garbage! I bought this car Jan 9 2007 with 3333 miles on it on July 24 2007 with 14,687 "I had to pay" $1,865.25 dollars to replace the mesh flywheel, presser plate, and clutch in my brand new 2006 Hyundai Tiburon! this is crazy, the factor, Hyundai, car max, or my extended warranty wouldn't cover this! here I am again Oct. 26 2008 with 44,000 miles my tibby is in the shop again. This time its the master cylinder, as often as I keep seeing this happen to other owners, of the 2006 Hyundai Tiburon I know its not just me or my car alone, its a big problem with every owner! if something isn't done about this, then my fellow 06 Hyundai Tiburon owners, my lawyer with dates and copies of repair receipt just waiting for my Q to file something on Hyundai, and I will try to have this problem taken care of because of until now nobody has! Hyundai should not want ppl telling other ppl not to get a Hyundai because they build bad vehicles should they? that's bad business all around!

July of 2007 I was having problems getting my car into gear. I brought it to the dealer I bought the car from and they told me that it was a pin that was bent relating to my clutch which I later find out was the master cylinder which was covered so their was no out of pocket expense however a little less than a year later in July of 2008 I was having the same problem so I bring the car back to the dealer and now they are telling me I need a clutch pressure plate release bearing and a flywheel which is not covered my car is less than two years old and has just over 27K miles I learned to drive on my permit using a manual transmission my first car was a manual and now this is my first brand new car and its also a manual I have never burned out a clutch.

I bought a 2006 Hyundai Tiburon. The car now has only 32,000 miles and I started experiencing problems with the clutch. I brought my car to the dealership to have them inspect a loud ticking noise in Feb.2008. They then proceeded to tell me immediately that it was the clutch bearing making the noise and needed to be replaced. I told them ok and asked them to fix it. Told me that it was a wear and tear item, and was not covered under the warranty. I left my car at the dealership and called later to check on the car. They once again said that the problem was the clutch bearing and I needed to replace the whole clutch for $900. After complaining to Hyundai corporate. The dealer then stated that they did not have enough time to completely diagnose the problem, and could not tell me who the person whom I talked to. I left my car at the dealership on two different occasions. I recently took the car back in for the same problem. Only at this point, the clutch pedal was making a grinding feeling. I have to put about 20lbs. Pressure on the pedal to easily engage 1st gear or reverse for that matter. At my last visit, they mocked me and tried to change the topic. Then told me they would order the clutch bearing and replace it. But ensured me that they clutch still needed to be replaced. When I tried to explain how I do not race the car, the gentleman told me in the ten years he has been there, only one person admitted burning up the clutch. At this point I feel like I have been taken advantage of, called a liar, and denied the warranty services that should have been rendered to me. It seems like this has been a recurring issue. I have yet to have the bearing replaced waiting on a phone call.

Events leading up to the failure: Acceleration is dangerously slow. Engine output is low while the input of gas is high. Gear shifting is normal but, results are mediocre.
