Whenever driving at low speed, the car would jump then speed off like the devil after it. This is noticed when the steering is in turning motion, especially going around corners, exiting roadways and about to turn into drive ways. During these occurrences the foot is off the accelerator and either shadowing or on the brake lightly. The occurrence is unpredictable as one can drive for days and nothing happens. The issue started shortly after purchasing car in August 2013 but gave me cause for concern when it jumped off the road into a ditch while climbing a treacherous hilly terrain. The dealer asked me to take it in and although they decided it was a computer problem, they only turned up EC values.
I took it back to them ten days after as they problem was more frequent. This time they changed the air filter and cleaned the throttle sensor. It did not help the problem; the vehicle started high revving in reverse.
I took it back to them and sat down and spoke with After sales Manager and Service Advisor - I asked them to explore the possibility of an INJURED SENSOR. When there is an injured sensor one is not able to identify the sensor and the diagnostic analyzer would show that nothing is wrong with the vehicle as was my situation. The After Sales Manager said they will change the computer - but guess what - the GM decides that it should not be changed. After reading persons complaints re this brand and their problem not addressed by dealers who are the first persos one would turn to; it makes me wonder about the type of contract dealers sign with Hyundai.
Hyundai Worldwide is aware of the problem and this acceleration problem is common to all brands of Hyundai as internet search as shown. The problem is also prevalent in Korea and they keep telling persons nothing is wrong because the analyzer is showing everything ok. There are persons with this same model vehicle who are experiencing the problem.
This is dangerous and I am willing to get together with others to file a class action suit against the company which has been dishing out lemons and not doing anything to address consumers' the problem.
