The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Tucson. While driving approximately 35 mph, white smoke emitted from the exhaust pipe and the vehicle stalled without warning. In addition, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

While the car was stationary, our oil light came on. When we took it to the mechanic he said the issue was actually the engine and it would need to be replaced. Mechanic towed it to the Hyundai dealership and they confirmed it needs a new engine.

I was driving down the highway. Without any prior indication of error, or any sensor reading that something was wrong with the engine, the engine started making a loud rattling noise and the rpms increased. I slowed down a bit, and continued driving. The engine this seized completely and died. Luckily I was able to pull over to the side of the road and call for help, but the engine is completely unresponsive.

The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Tucson. While driving 45 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the engine before it blew out. The vehicle was taken to heritage Hyundai towson (801 york rd, towson, md 21204, 877-387-5495) where it was diagnosed that the engine failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and provided claim number: 11286287. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.

I was driving on a city street, in the "eco" mode. I turned left, and the vehicle paused forward motion, until I pumped the gas pedal 2 or 3 times. This has happened many times since I purchased the veh. In 2016, with 16,000 + or - miles on the odo. When I turn off the "eco" mode, the problem still happens, though not as often. I left the car at vandergriff Hyundai for a day with N.P.F.

2015 Tucson engine blew after only 70,000 miles. It did not show any signs of failure but as I was driving the engine made a bang noise and just stopped and would not start again. After I did some research I found out that this is not the first Tucson to have engine failure after 70,000 miles.

Entire muffler pipes and catalater converter fell off car in one piece while driving the vehicle and pulled bumper out of alignment when it came down. Thankfully was only traveling at a slow speed in a residential area and was not on the highway. Heard a loud bang and emediatly felt and heard a change in engine. It was terrifying

Taylor Hyundai of perrysburg (12681 eckel junction rd, perrysburg, oh) was contacted and referred the contact to the manufacturer since the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and admitted that they used a soy-based compound for the insulation. The manufacturer also stated that they could not assist since there were no recalls for the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.

I was taking left into my drive, in front of oncoming traffic, the engine sounded like it was revving, but I had absolute no power. Luckily I got enough power eventually to get into the driveway without getting hit. I have had this happen repeatedly in this car. It has been into the deal once and they said they updated the software but it has started happening again. This is so dangerous. I never know exactly what I'm going to get when I step on the gas. The dual action clutch is awful and I was not informed about it even having this when I bought it. Otherwise, I would not have bought it.

When taking corners in the city I can't accelerate the car just revs for about 15-30 seconds and won't move. I have to try to pull over to get off the road. Also when accelerating from a stop the RPM's like to shoot up but the car won't take no gas. I have almost been hit twice because of this problem. Hyundai just says learn how to drive it. Learn what how to stall?

I purchased this car November 8 2014 with 99 miles on it. We've had severe issues with it in the last year. We've had it to the dealership where we purchased the vehicle and they've been in communication with Hyundai in order to fix it. There was no solutions, just "try this & see if it works." In July 2016 I started having medical issues, we've had issues with the vehicle not wanting to start. At first it wasn't wanting to start & then the check engine light came on. We took it to our local dealership and there was a recall on it for the exhaust system, they claimed that was the issue. So that recall was preformed and the light went off. Low and behold the issue was not corrected, the car still had episodes where it would not start. The issue was not something the service department could re-create. Second trip to the dealership for the same issue and they replaced the inhibitor switch, and that also has not worked. Now the check engine light is on again but the code is coming back as the purge valve. The car currently has no power and feels as if the motor could die at any second. I travel away about twice a month for various specialist doctor appointments. My vehicle has left me stranded there several times. I no longer feel my vehicle is safe or dependable for myself or any of my 3 children to be transported in it. I have contacted the Hyundai company directly but no response from them as of yet. For a 2015 model vehicle this may issues is ridiculous!! my husband and I are very disappointed and will never own another Hyundai vehicle!

2015 Hyundai Tucson. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle rough idle issues. The consumer stated the vehicle was taken to the dealer three times. The first time, code came back was an imperfection in the front brake rotors. The second and third time, there was no code.
