Bought a new Hyundai Tucson in May 2015..been having problems with the idling since that day. When it's in gear and stop for anything like stop sign it tries to cut off. You have to put it in neutral to calm it down..it only does it sometimes not all the time. Its very annoying.
Took it to 2 different Hyundai shops and neither one can figure it out. No codes pop up, the engine light doesn't come on. Can someone help me....this sounds like a possible lemon starting.

We purchased brand new and by the 3rd day, with 200 miles, this SUV started to shake? shimmy ? shudder ? Dealership told us to return at the 1500 mile mark and see if it's still misbehaving. Well for the next 1300 miles we drove around feeling like we were sitting in a foot massage machine at the state fair.
The SUV only does this at idle, intermittently, randomly, but very frequently. At the 1500 mile mark we took it back to the dealership and "we don't feel it" was the first response we received. They told us to give it some more time and try and keep a log of when and where and under what circumstances it happens. Well it happens all the time, any temp, any road condition, any day of the week, time of day and on public holidays.
We then took it back for an unrelated issue ( maintenance ) but at the time we asked them to watch for it and this time a technician sat in the back seat while we drove around for 20 minutes but of course the SUV behaved itself and it didn't occur. We left the dealership and the SUV decided to go crazy doing it.
After the 2nd visit to the dealership, we took it into have the oil change done with our regular mechanic and discussed it with him. He has been our guy for 15 years. Good reputation and, but he told us that he would have to charge us for the investigation and that could be very expensive as this is an intermittent problem.
We now have 15000 miles on the vehicle. We have driven it everywhere. Camping, out of state, any normal driving conditions, and we are just a shakin', rattlin' and a rollin' around.
I hope people share this info with everyone they know - just in case someone else is having the same issue!
Update from Mar 25, 2018: After about 18 months of complaining and trying to work wih the dealership I decided to start researching onling. Eventually I came up with the Hyndai Forums and someone mentioned that at each oil change the Hyundai manual mentions that a Concentrated Fuel System Cleaning is required. I found the cleaner online and then locally at Home Depot ( of all places ? ) and now that I routinely use this $11 concentrated system cleaner ...... at every oil change or 3000 miles - I don't have any shuddering or shaking. Rediculous that the Dealership and it's mechanics didn't know this and I had to find it online and rely on the experiences of a bunch of amateurs.......... but the fact is the issue seems resolved. Meanwhile I've been treated like a nut case at the dealership. If something is knocking --- the dealer ship says they oiled this and looked at that but can't hear anything. Yet my regular mechanic hears the issue immediately - sounds like an old squeaky bed at any speed and without going over any bumps. He uses a stethoscope and finds the issue and fixes it in 20 minutes. The alignment I paid for at an independent company was actually not completed and the knocking was an arm of some type swinging loose under my car. My mechanic sent me back to the independent to get a refund on the alignment. And the dealership couldn't hear or find that ??? Meanwhile I feel something weird coming from the front end. Kinda feels like it's really loose stearing and a shimmy on the stearing wheel. They say they an't find anything at the dealership but the local tire place puts it up on the rack and shows me two great big bubbles in both front tires. Says I need 4 new wheels now as they could cause a huge problem on the road while driving if one or both blow. So apparently because I've been branded a nut case ........ they don't really look at my car .... they assume I have an active imagination ? Or maybe they think I'm sue happy ? Either way I haven't been back to the dealership since they told me I needed to wait 3 weeks to look into the check engine light on my car. Goodbye Hyunda.

I bought a new 2015 Hyundai Tuscon in July 2015. It was around 1000 miles that at idle the car shakes like it is going to stall. Brought back to the Hyundai dealership and they stated that it was the way the engine was made and that it is not going to stall. They did not even look at it or even try to figure out the problem. When you spend so much money on a vehicle you expect it to work correctly and be reliable. You should not have to worry that the vehicle is going to stall when you have your young children in the can.

I bought brend new hyundai tucson 2015. very soon after the purches i discoverd one defect on the vehicle, its main problem was that defect was not manifesting permanetly but was rather of or on and off type, or lemon type, meaning that it appeared irregulary from time to time, mostly hapend after driving car for over 30min. when the engine heats up, the car shakes /studders lik crazy when at a red light or idling in drive. Several times I turned to service centre asking to fix the abovementioned defect. Unfortunately, the service centre didn not pay appropriate attention to the problem. Each time service specialist perfomend computer diagnostics of the engine but did not any visable defect of the engine. Each time after I left the service centre, the problem accurred again. took my car twice to independet expertsbin various garages, in both cases it was recorded as engine cylindre mistfire. in opinion of both spesialists problem is some deficiencies in the software of the fuel-injection system of the engine.

After driving the car for over 30 minutes (one long trip or several short errand ones) and the engine heats up, the car shakes/studders like crazy when at a red light or idling in drive.
Shaking stops only when gas is applied or A/C turned ON. Dealership says not an issue right now even though they confirmed engine was misfiring during test drive. Waiting for Hyundai Canada to repond.

I bought this vehicle used with 45000 miles on it about a year or so ago and its been nothing but a s*** show with this rough idling. I have been back to the dealer and even after spending a few thousand dollars, it still does the same thing. The only way I can stand this idling is when I stop at a light I put it on neutral or run the AC constantly to keep it smooth.
Hyundai, if you're reading or listening to this for that matter, IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO COME UP WITH A SOLUTION TO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
