Original equipment kumho tire R rear exploded on the highway, destroying the wheel well, bumper, and side panels, and almost cause major accident. After having to get the state patrol to stop traffic on all three lanes we drove car on the rim to the opposite of the highway where there was a median strip. When we went to replace this tire, with good tread after some 56,000 miles we learned that another tire, the L front, also had delaminated and separated, and that there were two large bald spots where the tire was failing also. Had this front tire exploded this would almost certainly have caused a rollover and probably killed or severely injured my daughter, the driver. I still have these tires, with a failure rate of at least 50%. kumho has done nothing to recall these dangerous tires, nor has Hyundai.
