My daughter and I had just dropped a member of her track team and we were on our way home when it felt ( I really do not know how to explain it, I will do the best I can) it felt like when only 2 windows are open, you feel pressure and loud road noise, when all of a sudden, there was a very loud crackling sound like if you just put ice in a Stanley glass and shake it, I really did not know what had just happened the I turned the radio off and my daughter goes what was that, she did not know either. This was late at night and we both were leaving to go out of town the following day. When I got home I went to get in my car to go to the store I opened the door, I I saw all this shattered glass, my head liner to both the sunroof and the panoramic sunroof was hanging down it resembled a full diaper just hanging down so low I was afraid it was going to bust. Unfortunately, I live in Florida when it rains it drops a lot of rain all at once, also because I live in Florida the Oak Trees drop a lot of this very sticky moss like stuff that makes a green-ish layer of film that the only way to rid the exterior, you have to manually scrub with a soft brush, I cannot wash the interior in the same fashion.

I immediately ran got my shop vac and went from the outside to suck up all the glass, water. Then I moved to the inside trying to suck up all that had fallen in the inside. I worked for 4 hours trying to get as much of it as I could. I'm HIGHLY allergic to mold. I called the Hyundai Service department informed them of what had happened, the person I first spoke to said not to worry that Hyundai was extending a warranty on faulty or defective parts and to bring it in and they would file the claim for me. I really felt so relieved, I also asked about a rent or loaner car since one time it took them 2.5 weeks to just get my brakes and 2 tires. We are a 1 car family and I have a very active 15 yr old who goes to a private school 20-25 minutes away, this is twice a day and then she is in track, volleyball, and very active in her church so we go a lot.

Took the car in as I was driving to take it in the glass was flying everywhere. If someone had been in the back seat this could have seriously injured them. I found out the following day that my claim was denied by Hyundai, their explanation was "No Goodwill Assistance would be made to me. They offered to file a claim with my car insurance company, and I asked why this was not caused by an accident nor was it manmade!!! And (Lucky for me I was texting back and forth with the service representative on my cell phone) her reply to me asking why she added HaHa to my text. I stated there is nothing funny about this. So here is what I take a great offense to I took my car back to the dealership 3 times for my engine stalling NO ONE EVER SAID THERE WAS AN ISSUE , NOR THAT THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION REGARDING THAT ISSUE, AND NO ONE EVER INFORMED ME OF THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF COULD SHATTER CLASS ACTION SUIT....... At the very least people who owned these models were supposed to receive a $ 200 check........Well Hyundai is saying they can put in an aftermarket panoramic sunroof glass in for $ 2330.51.

I'm furious I cannot afford this. Why was I never notified? Hyundai sure sends service updates every 3-4 months for like brake pads, tires, and oil changes etc., etc., no one notified me that hey your panoramic sunroof glass could shatter while you're driving which could cause great bodily harm. Or hey you, are not crazy, your model of car engine could stall while driving and fix the freaking car, replace the sh*tty glass with class that want shatter!! I need help or information on what I need to do or go where I need to online. I'm not a spring chicken in fact my shelf life has exceeded its expiration date regarding technology. A little HELP would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!!!
